The goal of this Wild Hearthstone Elemental Shaman OTK combo deck is to use Shudderblock combined with Kalimos Primal Lord! We do this by playing Shudderblock, Kalimos, Grumble, Shudderblock, and Kalimos for the OTK! Super fun meme deck! Good luck!

Oh man, that first game was a delight. The coin-totem into totem turn 1 and 2 with quest in hand, dumping most of the battlecry minions before the turn 5 play of the quest. I spit my drink up! Sometimes I think these games are being played by cats who managed to open hearthstone on an idle tablet.

Don't worry about the first match; it was probably just a filthy Bot. Two-worded names like that tend to play oddly 46% of the time. The other 54% of the time, they play Undead Shadow Aggro Priest lol

@@Tatercon they cant though, because the logic chain checks out, kalimos is casting a spell, just like tendrils, the battlecry isnt dealing damage; you also have to consider effects that apply an aura, like ashen elemental, the battlecry isnt dealing damage, its applying an aura, like mograine

For example, make it so that the next battlecry gets a tag that gives the opponent immune until the battlecry resolves. Might not affect ashen elemental, but it fixes a lot of cases like spells and spell-like affects damaging the opponent. Edit: Actually, I realized that implemented just like that, you'd prevent deathrattles from other cards damaging the opponent too. On the one hand, it prevents blowing up your opponent if you could repeatedly trigger deathrattles, which falls in line with the cards design. On the other, it prevents incidental damage that honest players might be disappointed to lose.

Today I played marrow manipulator with shudderblock and it didn't damage enemy hero. But if you play chaos tentacles the spell can deal hero damage. It's coded very strange for sure.

@@XDwnk The logic seems to be that the battlecry itself can't target or do random damage to the opponent's face, but if the battlecry triggers any additional effect, that additional effect is not under the same restriction, so at least it's consistent. Probably some antics to be add with Shudderblock + Shudderwok and Shudderblock + Soulbound Ashtongue.

If the minion is dealing damage-won't work If a minion has some kind of other effect, that results in damage-will work. For example, elven archer deals dmg by itself, so shudder would nullify that. Shudder and coldlight oracle draws cards, but the damage is dealt by fatigue-will work. Shudder and some kind of battlecry SPD, like, ancient mage deals no damage by itself, +6 SPD is what affecting the damaging spell. And so on, and so on. This combo works because you have to basically choose with battlecry a spell, and Kalymos only grants you an ability to choose a spell. The spell deals damage on it's own, so it is unaffected by the restriction. It would be interesting to test the shudderblock with trenchstalker, because I'm not sure how it would work.

@@DazllingstonTrenchstalker would work, since it's not the battlecry dealing the damage, it's the minion attacking face. Shudderblock only blocks directly damaging battlecries. Essentially if it says "Battlecry: Deal damage" it won't damage face. If it says literally anything else, it works. So Ashen Elemental works since it applies an aura to the opponent that deals damage when they draw a card. Even Shudderwock works because its battlecry is to use other cards battlecries, so even if it repeats damaging battlecries like for example, Lifedrinker, it counts as Lifedrinker dealing damage not Shudderwock. So yeah, you can't just insta-win with Astalor, Denathrius, C'thun, Alexstraza or Skarr. But basically anything else can work.

I have a new combo idea: use the shaman titan with the 20 damage to minion effect on the minion that deals the damage taken to the hero controlling it by sending it over to the opponent with that darkmoonsfaire leg

Blizzard is suffering from a competency crisis. The obvious solution to shudderkok would be making the enemy hero immune on the turn you play the multiplied battlecry.

I like this solution, but that still doesn't completely solve the problem, and it makes at least one new problem. Cards that cause damage on your opponent's turn (e.g. when your opponent draws a card, they take 2 damage) would still bypass the protection Additionally, battlecries that incidentally kill deathrattle minions that deal damage would now cause you to lose the damage that you would have benefitted from otherwise. It would protect against intentionally trying to abuse deathrattle triggers, but players not doing that might find the interaction confusing or disappointing

It can deal face if the battlecry/card itself doesn't deal it technically the elemental evocations are spells casted by kalimos, which isn't affected by shudder

Ohhh! I love Shudderblock, though I've not even played it yet, and I threw it into an elemental deck as well, seeing as there are many elemental battlecries that refill hands instead. When I built it and came across Kalimos, I actually theorized that he might circumvent the damage negation. I've played a few games with the deck, but, as I said, never got a Shudderblock going, but knowing my theory was spot on just makes me happy.^^

It works that way in marvel snap, but Hearthstone is a lot more literal. Unless solar eclipse causes a spell to go off 4 times, it probably just defaults to three

It only works when the battlecry says something to the effect of "do a thing" and that thing does damage (i.e. a spell or spell-like effect) If the battlecry literally says "deal damage" then it won't work.
