I thought Sailor Moon transformation parodies in cartoons were kind of unofficially "banned" after how overused it become around 2017 and that compilation video on youtube went viral. And I love Sailor Moon, and I know I SHOLD be happy for it cult classic status, but to be fair it irritates me at this point. Also, it's interesting - in western cartoons its always transformation parody, in anime when something appears its "In the name of the Moon I will punish you" pose.

I tend to look at it from the perspective of the animators who put it in. Lots of people were motivated to get into the animation industry bc of Sailor Moon and this is their way to express that. I feel bad for younger workers who can’t express that without criticism even if they were no different than their predecessors who were inspired.

@@noblestea I am not sure if this rumors about unofficial "ban" are true, but the number definitely decrased, so it could made sense that people were discouraged...
