I think Shang is the worst in MK1. I mained him for the first year. In Nov I was in Ranked and lost 10 / 0. I thought I must really be bad at the game. Then I picked my second main (Nitara) and won 5 /0. Shang has: only 1 overhead, that doesn't combo, in only (Young ) morph. It is so bad that (unless NRS fixed it since), if you fight against Shang in practice mode, all you have to do in down block. The NPC Shang can't hit you. I taped down the block button and walked away. 15 mins later the NPC still didn't get one hit on me. Also, Shang has no Throw combo. I've tried with every kameo, every move. Not even Scorpion. Its because he rolls across the screen. Sorry for the rant. But... I REALLY put in the time trying to make him work. I decided to main him before the game came out and stuck with him for a year before I finally had to give up. However, Shang is responsible for me finding your YT channel. So maybe it was all worth it in the end.
