These are high accolades from an experienced and talented modeller such as yourself, thank you! Five minutes every night might not be much by themselves but certainly add up at the end.

Great video! I love how the engine rpm's start increasing before the engines start moving, and how they coast so far after being throttled down! I think this is the most prototypical thing in this regard that I have ever seen on KZbin! What throttle, and what brand of DCC decoders are you using?
@SouthDown11 күн бұрын
I appreciate the kind the feedback. It's nothing special: a standard issue NCE DCC controller, while the engines are sportingTsunami2 decoders with their motor settings dialled up. If you are curious, I break down the configuration of those two engines here: kzbin.info/www/bejne/mmrQemeAabCekLssi=mnhCS6UihExsXGdM

Nice switching op. liked datto weathering on the modern GN green bx KAaaa. So w ur chocolate box. Love ur dedicated industrial switching op. It's nice 2C such fun railroading in such a shmall narrow space against unobtrusive wall. Nice sounds. (4:30) Surprised 2 find Caboose at this period. But i do like dem back! No ETD wanted though it mayb fun to duplicate w an LED. Datto black n grey NeuYark Central diesel and ur newly purchased tank cars (love dem) r begging for weathering. SDRS RR must b a shmall service RR w hand-me-down engines? no private paint dept... Butto wait! If SDRS has a caboose, it may nut be a short distance srvc RR. so u need 2 come up w a story why this dwelling KAaa is needed. Like dem old Geeps! How bout blue smoke out of dem needing ring jobs? May need micro fans along w the shmock gen. Sure wld like 2C some track crews, brakeman hanging at the end KAaa, n industrial employees on the ladders etc. too as the yrd looks too lonely. Mayb feral katzen too at least? Nice switching job by the enjuneer n brakeman braking dwn the train n switching the tracks!

Thank you so much for such a detailed and thoughtful comment! You’ve noticed so many of the details I love about my layout. Those ideas for lighting and smoke are really interesting-something to think about for the future, perhaps! As for the caboose story, that could definitely add some character to the scene. 😊 Thanks again for sharing your enthusiasm!

@@SouthDown Welcome. U got the idea. Make the stationary objects (nut just the moving train) come "alive" as so 2 spk.

Great advice, thank you! I consider some of the things you mention as work to be done once major completion is achieved. At this time, the next goals are finishing the ground cover, finishing the ballast, then adding static grass. After that, there is one more building I want to add, followed by -- still being debated -- two flat buildings. There is even talk about a bridge, but I haven't made it that far. Once I do, though, looking into the finer details will be on the table.

@@SouthDown Wow! Dat's a lot in ur list. Pls make Part 2 video of a few construction steps of some items, then the finished result. Oh, forget what i wrote above. this is just a leisure hobby, nut work ...

Have you ever cut of the end of those CI ground throws? I mean the part sticking out on the opposite side of the switch? It’s hanging over the edge of my yard and if I cut it it won’t be sticking out. Thanks in advance! -1- Sebas
@SouthDown17 күн бұрын
Yes, I cut that extra piece. It still sticks out a little because I wasn't sure if cutting it flush when it is at its longest sticking out would break something once it disappeared inside. If you look at my "Community" post, the last one has two photos just for you to show you how I mutilated mine.
