I greatly GREATLY appreciated this review. Clearly you know your stuff, it's shocking this video hasn't been viewed more. KZbin GODS, WTF YOU DOING?!? Ahh rem, please excuse this short intermission, so yeah, thanks again, stayed captivated from start to finish and learned a lot! Edit: Dang! That affiliate link is US and I'm Canada.

I enjoyed the review. I don't have time to research every new product when it comes out. Plus, I enjoy and trust your POV on gear so the review is no way redundant or too late.

Yeah, some people...they got tik tok brain 🤣 The SM7B came out in 2001, the SM7dB was announced at the end of Sept. 2023 but most couldn't get ahold of one until a couple months ago. I think a 7 month old mic vs a 23 year old mic qualifies as new. 👍

Thanks for the Review. Wasn't sure if I bought a fake mic (does the SM7dB even exist in the depths of the Asian forges?), because it wobbles at the screw that attaches it to the boom arm. But I see it's the same with yours, so everything seems to be fine. These fake Shure microphones are driving me nutz 🤣

Why again a video about it? It came out 7 months ago so it's not really that new, and who knows which legend it will become? 🤠

First video was just an announcement to let people know the mic exists. This video is a hands on demo and review. 2) 7 months is nothing. The SM7B was released in 2001. The SM7dB was announced right before Oct. 2023. So....23 year old mic vs. 7 month old mic....yeah, that's new 🤣 You know who else calls the SM7dB new... SHURE! 🤣🤣🤣 Put down the TikTok, and touch grass.

Can you make a sound test video from outside? To know if you can hear, for example, the keyboard, the sm7b picks up the sound of typing but it is minimal, do the sm7b and sm7db have the same sound quality?😊

With the new interfaces giving 70+ db of gain (focusrite vocaster 2) should you get a sm7b to drive it up to where it needs to be or just get the sm7db with +28 turned on and use less of the vocaster 2. (This is for KZbin videos and live stream gaming commentary). Great informative video and it’s never too late for a review! Thank you sir!

I'd personally still get the SM7dB because interfaces come and go. You may find a new interface in a couple years that has less gain, but it has all the other features you want. The SM7dB is a more versitile all in one package, and the mic can easily last you 20+ years. Also look out for interfaces that say "Gain Range" and not "Additional Gain or +Gain" Because "Gain Range" includes minus gain (-Gain) or the ability to turn things down. For example, the Presonus 1824c has an 80dB Gain Range but only 65dB of +Gain (or +65 dB of Gain) the other is -15dB of attenuation which = 80dB Gain Range. Im not saying the Vocaster does not have +70dB, according to Focusrite it does, it's just a general tip that's good to know. With the SM7dB you can experiment with the settings that work for you without needing to get a cloudlifter.
