Shuto Kousoku Trial 1

Part 1 of the Shuto Kousoku Trial series.
Street racers challenge each other to exceed the current lap record held by the F1 racer. However, in order to break the record of Tokyo's C1 Loop Line, you need to have "luck", a high-powered street-machine, driving technique, and you must be able to conquer "Devil's Curve". Racers bet their dreams and their lives against one another in a dangerous game of speed.

交通機動隊とかが出てて面白かったですね。その交通機動隊のクラウンが走り屋たちに挑んでいるところも、さながら現実の警察の覆面パトカーが走り屋たちを追っかけてるそれに近いし。というか僕この作品ですとDR30よりもMS123に目が行ってました。だって速いんですよ何故か知らんけど。クラウンって凄い車なんだなと昔見ていた時ふと思いました。これが後々のセルシオに技術が受け継がれる訳だから。

この手のビデオって警察が許さないので、そもそも第一作の時点でアウトだったんですよ。しかもビデオ出しても当時はそれほど流行らなくて、それで第二作目からは当時人気絶頂だった土屋圭市氏の出演を依頼したが当初より危険促進ビデオだと言われていたが為に警察から眼を付けられ、またしても人気が出なかった為お蔵入りに。そもそもバブル崩壊と共にスポーツカー人気も冷め、実用性な車が好まれるようになってからこのようなビデオは人気も乏しかったですし、峠の走り屋の方が人気出て尚更ダメになっていきましたね。

Well, 1987 being the year with the most deaths on roads in Japan, they were worried such a film would encourage reckless driving. So it wasn't out in theaters, but was allowed to go on cassettes. At the same time, also, they decided speedometers would be limited to 180kph on all cars, as well as a "gentlemens' agreement" that no car would be over 276ps .

@@matheuswolters3448 from what i read it got banned on theaters because of it's "message" i can't imagine the authorities would appreciate a movie that portrays the police as the bad guys and breaking traffic laws as a cool thing to do. The movie was also released at the end of the japanese economic boom, i believe that's when street racing peaked so they didn't want more people to get into it.

@@matheuswolters3448 The movie was banned because of the subject of street racing and speeding, stuff like that. Its the reason why Keiichi Tsuchiya appears in films after the original, to spread the message that doing such things is not worth it. Its that same kind of disclaimer you'll see in games like NFS where a actor appears to tell players to race in the games or race on the tracks and not on the streets, plus to wear a seatbelt.
