What I like about this one is that the bed isn’t too high. Loft beds sound great for saving space, but if you're living in your van/bus rather than using it only for vacations you need a bed you can get into even if you're sick - even if you've broken an ankle or wrist.
@dillydallydually9 ай бұрын
Lots of beds are high because people are storing bikes or other tall things under the bed. We prioritized my 6'1" husband being able to sit up in the bed and my 5'3" self not needing a stool to get on it 😁

What I love about this rig is that there is a passenger door and seat. So many shuttle busses out there eliminated the passenger door and seat. Not a great situation for any passenger riding in a converted bus. So, the bones of this rig are great. But all of the touches and details are first class. The craftsmanship inside and out are amazing. Great job folks.

Nice to have countertops for food prep, A feeling of openness with all those windows, so nice! You guys did a GREAT job!! Please don't add music to any demo or tour. It is so stressful to have loud music competing with voice.

Thank you! We are still working on our video editing skills as this is our first full length video. We feel the music is very quiet, but maybe it plays differently for different people.
@MrGuyBroDude9 ай бұрын
Love the idea of the starlink exterior pole! I was a truck stop and made the mistake of thinking I was safe parking way off in the back corner where nobody was late at night so I put it right outside my door on the ground because it was too windy to put it on the roof and unfortunately someone ran it over backing up in the spot right next to me even though there were 20+ spots around us open and I was the only one in that whole section -.- But the pole that comes down would solve that from happening and also secure it for wind. Well done!
@dillydallydually9 ай бұрын
That's such a bummer! The thing that's nice about being able to put it on the ground is that you could park somewhere under a tree and put the Starlink away from the tree. That's the only time we have had problems with ours, under trees.

We have a portable AC and no microwave. We didn't have much space on the roof for a big AC unit and a microwave takes a lot of power for something I can do in the stove or in the oven. It took us 7 months and about $35,000 which includes the bus. The build was fully done by the two of us.

We thought about adding a bolt of some kind on the inside, but when you use the motor to close the door it is quite secure. It would probably be easier to break a front window to get in. We also have cameras around the bus and that's a decent deterrent as well. I understand the concern though. 🙂

Great build! I am building the same sized turtle top E350, but mine is a 2004 with 4x4 Quigley conversion and doesn't have that nice bump up through the middle of the top. I really like your layout and the use of the 'broom closet' space and Starlink storage! I'm curious of what suspension upgrades you may have made to the rear. I was thinking of adding a leaf or two.
@dillydallydually9 ай бұрын
Thank you! We really like this chassis, though it had some serious rust to deal with being from Michigan. I would love to have the Quigley conversation and probably would if I were doing it again. My husband is 6'1" so that bump-up has been clutch. We put another leaf in and replaced all 4 shocks. We also have a smooth ride system because it was a shuttle bus for an elder care facility, so we replaced those rubber couplers too. It's nothing fancy, but it has definitely improved the handling.

@dillydallydually9 ай бұрын
It's a MaxxAir MaxxFan Dome fan (that's a lot of repetition). It can be mounted in the roof or in the side wall. It has a small footprint and doesn't stick up as much as the big MaxxAir. It works great for getting the humid air out of the shower, but you do need to open something else, like a window, or you won't get much airflow.
