People from communities all over California watched the skies in hopes of catching a glimpse of space shuttle Endeavour as it was ferried on the NASA 747 Shuttle Carrier Aircraft to Los Angeles on Sept. 21, 2012.
On its final flight to the California Science Center, Endeavour was escorted by a combination of F/A-18s and an F-15 from NASA’s Armstrong Flight Research Center in Edwards, California. Those aircraft were flown by NASA Armstrong pilots, while center photographers and videographers documented the orbiter’s final journey.
Included on the space shuttle’s flight path were many California landmarks such as the California State Capitol Building, Disneyland, Dodger Stadium, the Getty Center, the Golden Gate Bridge, and the Hollywood sign. Also on the route were the Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum, NASA’s Ames Research Center, NASA’s Jet Propulsion Laboratory in Pasadena, and the Santa Monica Pier.

To have seen this fly over was very emotional. I was privileged to help walk with it from the hanger to a site near LAX. To see her bumps and bruises brought tears to my eyes. I miss this beautiful beast taking off and head to space 🚀

I can't believe I forgot this was today! I remember seeing that old thing trek across LA like it was nothing. Heard they even had to cut a few trees down to make way for the shuttle. This was a really fun thing to see back then, and I hope we get more programs like this. I hope you guys keep growing to be better than your past one day, looking back at the Space Shuttle Program and what could have been better, or left the same! Have a great day, NASA.

I saw this video again tonight. It brought back tears and all the emotions. I was privileged to be at Edward's the day before and see it land for the last time at Edward's. We talked with the pilots. We were able to walk under the aircraft and the shuttle. I will never forget the emotions of pride and gratitude. Truly amazing! The next day as it was heading to LA I was having coffee pn my patio. It was flying over the boulevard right over my house. It was gorgeous and unimaginable that something this big could go this low and slow and still stay up. So proud

I was very blessed to have seen the Endeavor at CA Science Center last month. I was able to see it up close and stand under it to see all that it was made of. Such a sight to behold! I wish many kids will get to see this and be inspired!:)

I was at my mom's house waiting for it to pass over Tucson. I heard a deep rumble and knew it was the shuttle. I got on the roof in order to see it pass over, absolutely amazing.

I remember seeing it fly over my grandparents’ house! I was there. I was 5 years old! In 2019, on the July 7th, I went down to the California science center to see it up close for my 12th birthday! I still remember seeing it fly over me. Nostalgia hits hard, am I right?

I love everything SpaceX has done for our space program from Rockets to Capsules, but the Shuttle had a style to it that SpaceX's Dragon capsules just can't match. The shuttle was like a corvette in space to my eyes. Probably why I am so looking forward to the successes of the Starship program.

I remember where i was, what i was doing when this happened and wont ever forget like they said. I was a sophomore in highschool, talking to my friend while he was waiting to get a coffee from the teachers lounge bc other students "worked" in there. Bro was talking about how coffee ruined his teeth which is visibly showed 🤢🤢 but just then the schools speaker rung telling everyone to be prepared and keep your eyes peeled for the NASA shuttle piggyback. He spotted it first from far out away and we just stood and stared off into the sky as it slowly flew above the whole school [Paramount HS]
