I saw these guys by accident. I was walking through a park in Germany one day in the early 90s and heard this weird, energetic, upbeat, hypnotising music. I walked in the direction of the sound and saw these guys playing. I think they were only starting out at the time and they must have been booked by the local council. It was free so I sat myself down and listened to them for a while. I couldn't stay for long but I was blown away by them. Videos don't do them justice. They need to be experienced live.

Almost the same happened to me in 2015. Our city was celebrating 750 years since its foundation and they were part of that. Just followed the sound to the city square.

Saltarello, it is an Italian form of music. They still play this with bagpipes and pifferi (type of flute) and tamburi in the Italian region of Marche where my father is from.

Its been over 2 months now, the Coronavirus quarantine. Today the quarantine got rid of some restrictions. I started jogging in the park today, while listening to Corvus Corax. This song and In Benedictus Virgine pumped me up badly. Adrenaline rushed through me and i started beating up other people who came too close. Im writing this from the police office, someone come bail me out pls.

Imagine this as a tune the scots used during the jacobite uprising - charging to the sound of bagpipes and drums, first slowly marching until the beat gets faster, then running faster and faster until you reach the redcoats lines and start to hack and smash them up with your basket sword or lochaber axe 💪

Calling something "metal" doesn't always mean that it is under the definition of metal music, often it is used to say that something is seriously great. Under which I agree, this is seriously the best version of rock and roll via bagpipes and sans guitar that I have ever heard.
