i have no idea how japan works, why can't people read kanji? even nene says they don't use it which is b.s you clearly see alot of chinese (kanji) on japanese products/labels, sometimes its 90% kanji in the wording, hell i've seen a holomem_en (i think) and they played geoguesser and one japanese sign was 100% kanji, if you can't read it why is it there? p.s baelz can read it she's chinese

Just an assumption from a person who only knows Chinese (me) but if it's anything close to the same thing, it would be more of the fact that since the words are comprised of a mixture of words that could be guessed on their meaning without being able to read it, that might be the case in which they can understand the meaning but could not read it out. This is especially so when Kanji can be read completely differently when matched up with different words, which also exists in Chinese
