Have been binge watching the show AGAIN with my mum here in Canada. I noticed Ruby was gone and that made me very sad. She added so much sparkle to the show. Definitely a highlight to the show. I wish you would bring her back if it is still filming. I thought St Marie sure has a lot of murders just like Midsommer. 😉

Death in Paradise is one of my most favorite series, I can watch it over and over again, in fact I do. :D And these two are just wonderful in their roles, I really like them, especially Shyco as Ruby, she is such a whirlwind, but a lovely one. :D I hope there are lots of more seasons to come yet.

Lol I watched this interview just to see what their real accents are like. I noticed ages ago the others sounded French, the two main ladies, Catherine sounds French and everybody else sounds almost Jamaican and that's all the UK people faking it mostly, I think.

Love the actress in interviews... but the show still greatly misses Dwayne's presence. Dwayne was the ultimate local, he knew everyone on the island and most importantly knew their history. Spunkiness alone can't replace that, the show's writers need to supply more local background for Ruby than they have thus far.

I've been wondering since season 1 who's faking the accents and who's not, so each time there was a new main character I'd Google them and often saw they were from the UK. That's why these two sound different and Florence, Camille & Catherine sound French because they are. So many of the so called Islanders are English.

My husband and I have watched from the beginning and really enjoy the program and all the actors although we have had our favorites like JD, Ruby, Wayne, Catherine, Camille and Chris Marshall as well as Ardal as the detectives. Ruby's uncle the Commissioner are great as well !

Watched death in paradise last night for the first time the one with a sayonce to speak with mama 'Beth' its not my kind of show but in parts couldn't stop laughing at the island police seargant point when he gets back out of breath sweating and says I've just had to run after a narc for 10 miles and what made it worse was he stopped twice to let me catch him up then takes a good drink from a glass handed to him and nearly chokes on the drink and says what the hell is that to the reply of water you asked for a drink on coming in, so he says when I ask for something don't listen to me, so he then takes a a good gulp of rum and says this is what I wanted and wipes his lips so funny.
