Another version of the meaning for the song: Finn McCumhail is buried on the big hill, his Fianna are buried on the little hill and the valley between is where the members of the Red Branch were killed. Because of this, I tend to play this song rather slowly on harp and not fast as many tend to do. I enjoyed this performance of the song very much

It is interesting that there is a Barony of "Si Bheag" also known in the anglicized form of Barony of Seabegs in Stirlingshire, Scotland. There is still a Baron of Seabegs. Also nearby is Seamore..mirroring the ancient Irish legend as memorialized by O'Carolan!
