I think she plays on the effects of the personality of the song, (weak, depressed, loathing what one has done to themself) its in her ability to make it sound like she is in agony, with a mix of "i cant do this alone anymore" its beautiful. :)

Even though she's mumbling i don't really think it destroys the song, I find it beautiful. That's performing. She have anxiety which also can cause mumbling because of the rumination. The lyrics is also so strong, and I think it's difficult to perform it live. I don't see any "bad" thing in this version. When they perform, it wouldn't really be that special, if they sang just like they did when they recorded it in the studio. This is different, it's more personal and it gives sense.
