A part of me LOVES her realness sooo much. I love how real and just honest she is about herself. But when she said that she doesnt listen to music anymore and that she feels nothing from her own music, I was like WHATTT???! Because I get sooo into her songs. I would get stoned to death and sing out "FIRE MEETS GASOLLINNNNEEE" and to think that while she was writing her song she was just like... "Meh"... just blew my mind lmao. still love her so much. Sort of a let down finding out that Sia feels she's getting rid of her feelings through her music rather than passionately connecting with it. And a further slap in the face knowing she doesn't even listen to modern day music at all. Such an incredibly unique human being. Still love her though.

I think you have to be a musician/composer for many years to understand what she means by that. When creating, you need inspiration more than emotion (though emotions can inspire). too much emotion clouds your ability to create freely. By the time you have got to the stage of recording a song (I have done studio musician work), you have likely played or sung a song literally dozens if not hundreds of times and by that stage, the inspiration you first felt is long gone. She is one of the most honest and transparent people I have seen interviewed, its very refreshing

***** it doesn't have to be a let down and there is certainly not a slap in the face, as most of todays music is quite shit. But, If the music has meaning to you, then thats great and the purpose of it after all. Also, basically every real artist is releasing their demons through their music. Thats how some of the greatest songs were made, and its only natural to get sick of your own shit at some point, if you're honest.

The problem is not how she feels about herself but how people judge her like I saw on comments "I can't look anything but her teeth" you know people can be soo stupid an stop on a detail.
