Why do I cry the entire song? Like it’s so immensely beautiful, and she sings with so much emotion that I fell every bit of her love story and my heart literally hurts. This connects to something in my brain that signals every emotion I have and I get overwhelmed and start crying because of the beauty. The notes, the lyrics, the harmonies the instruments the melody. There was a comment I saw on another video for this song that stated that the song was for Sia's late boyfriend who got hit by a drunk driver and died, not sure if it was true or not though, wish I could find the original comment since it was much more in depth. Edit: I actually found more information about it and I was kind of close with my initial comment. Apparently in 1997, her boyfriend (fiancé) at the time, Dan was killed after being hit with a car in London. It took her six years to come to terms with his death. Sia was also featured on Lea Michele's "If You Say So" and the lyrics include Pontifex's last words to her "You said 'I love you girl', / I said 'I love you more', / Then a breath, a pause, you said, 'if you say so'"
