Honestly, I've seen so many people dance these type of dances and nobody has moved me like Maddie. Dancing is like painting. Anyone can paint by number. Some people follow the steps perfectly and stay in the lines flawlessly. And the painting comes out just as it should. Then there are those that just free paint. Sure they may paint out of the lines or use the wrong colors but what they end up creating is an emotionally moving and unique piece of are. That's Maddie.

sia isn't using children here to exploit the tragedy, she's using these themes VERY consciously (as she always does imo) & it's why this video moves people so strongly. all those seemingly random facial expressions & dance moves that may seem ~out of place~ are meant to represent the mindsets of the victims, replaying their emotions/memories/lives before their final moments. they went to pulse for a night of dancing, fun, and connection (child-like in its light heartedness) and the night ended in tragedy before they could even fully process what was happening. aside from the personal friends & family of the victims i don't think anyone paid as much genuine tribute to them as sia did. please reflect on this sentiment & give the video another watch, perhaps it will shift your mindset and enable you to see this for what it is- not an exploitative take on a tragedy but an artistic representation of the grief and the confusion that follows senseless loss and the unexpected ways we as humans can find release, comfort & hope in forming community with one another.

This is just my thought: 0:26 The Rainbow Flag (LGBT) 1:18 Escaping the shooting, running for their lives. 1:31 People helping each other to get out of the club (Where the shooting took place) 1:56 (Sorry if I offend anyone) People getting killed during the shooting :( 2:01 (You could see Maddie telling them to get up, not to give up) I also think that the 2 arms means a Shield, to protect yourself. 2:08 Also again, people aiding each other during the shooting (to not give up) 2:38 If you look closely at the people around Maddie, They are making rings around their eyes and then putting their hands beside their heads, meaning They saw what happened are scared. 3:06 Once again, attacked with a weapon by the shooter. 3:08 It seems like she is forcing a smile (carving out a smiley face with thumb) and then does a peace sign few seconds later, showing that they just want peace. 3:18 With the hand gestures it seems like she is saying "I have seen what you done but cannot speak" Then they wave their index finger back and forth as to say "No" 3:34 It seems like it's a club, the setting of the shooting 3:47 Once again, People getting killed during the shooting :'(... 3:57 REALLY looked like they tried to say "Stop!" but fall once they do, implying that they get killed when they do... 4:36 :( I am so so sorry if I offended anyone, I am just here to try to break down the video because I have seen some people saying that they don't understand the video.
