They have a big Cat Room with 5 big cat-trees, a cat-walk, toys & more & they've access to the rest of the flat too.* Also they aren't only indoor cats, but *partly outdoor cats with supervision.* We go a lot on walks/hikes in nature, on vacation & more. *So, don't worry their life is the exact opposite from boring. Thank you. The names are Japanese. Otani means Big Valley and Yozora means Night Sky. Learning/speaking Japanese is my Hobby for 12 years, that`s why I chose names from that language.

Kelly Yang+ They are trained carefully & also bonded to me strongly due to that (they trust me, that if I'm there nothing bad will happen). Look into my channel, there are plenty of videos of my cats on walks in various locations & them happily exploring, climbing, running & playing tag etc.

So the cats wait for by the door for you for 15 minutes so they can ignore you when you return!? lol : ). It's obvious that the cats love you and missed you. Very cute. Also surprising to see the amount of vocalizations they do. Some scientists say that cats only meow to communicate with humans, but apparently that is not the case! (Unless they were doing that for the camera - lol).

Well, they gave me a welcome with their meow. When I'm gone for work (around 6 hours), then they meet me a little different. Here I was gone only for 15 minutes. But yes, it does look like they make a drama with me gone & when I'm back they like "Oh, whatever." Haha. I can say, with my 2 cats, that they don't meow only for humans. They talk to each other. Cheekygrrl+ I think it's not that severe, as long as they get enough attention per day. In the wild cat moms leave their young for a certain time too, to catch prey....surely multiple times a day. So even tiny kittens learn that mom does leave every day & that it's normal.

I did a video test for my cat one time just like this one. My cat do meow when I tend to talk to her but she is not a sweet cat as she won’t let me carry her or pet her longer time I want. But it surprise me when I left home and set the camera she did the same like these cats she won’t stop meow and stayed at front door until I came back home I felt so loved the moment I watch those vids😊

Cats always know what time you’ll be home and be at the door to greet you. Dogs are famous for this but cats do it too!!! Every time I came home from work both my cat and my dog were always waiting at the door!!! Nothing says loved more!

Haha. Well, I have to work 6-7 hours per day, except weekends. So, I can´t be at home all day. They surely accept me being gone after a half an hour or so. Or rather I hope they´re not whining all those hours...my neighbors never complained. (Though I have to admit my neighbors are very accepting to many things...f.e. me playing piano for hours, hearing sometimes loud music & my cats playing at midnight their last round of tag...)

We had Siamese cats, too. Ours entertained themselves by drinking the coffee from cups on the table, left over from breakfast. They like tea and coffee. Using the toilet, their mother trained them, when they were young. Tearing up last nights paper. Watching birds from their window seat. Catching flies in flight, they are real jumpers. Chasing each other. Checking out noises from outside. They never lacked for things to do. After all this, they'd fall asleep in their favorite spots.

Great that you had more than one Siamese, so they had each other. My cats do all that stuff too (except they don't tear up anything & they use a simple litterbox, not a human toilet), but mostly they enjoy the time on our nature walks/hikes, running, climbing, rolling around in sand, eating grass etc.

I think it's quite unknown for people that cats can be walked & don't have to be either an indoor or (unsupervised) outdoor cat. That's why i put Tutorials on my channel on how to walk a cat & show also our hikes etc. Maybe it gets better known.

I plan to get one, some day! :) Btw, just to let you know, it probably isn't a good idea to let your cats taste coffee or tea. Caffeine is deadly toxic to cats.... Although, a few licks is probably okay. They won't likely die from a few tastes... but I think it might be better to be safe than sorry. It's basically on the same level as giving a dog chocolate--a bit won't hurt them... but it's probably not the best idea. :) Anyway, sorry for replying to this post so late... I had a kitty who would cry if I were gone for more than a few hours. She had serious abandonment issues. As she got older she had dementia. She'd forget where I was and would cry until I'd show her I was right there. I got sick and was in the hospital for about 10 days, she was miserable, crying all day, looking for me. When I got home she wouldn't leave my side. I miss that kitty a lot.

I think it would've been a good idea if that cat had a cat-buddy. With a cat-companion they feel less alone, when the owner is gone, also they always have a friend of their own species to play with. I always recommend, when getting an indoor cat, to get at least 2 cats.

This is why anyone who has a cat or is thinking about getting a cat should have two. I have one Siamese mix and his sister, a black and white DSH--not only did I not want to separate them as kittens, but without her, he would be even louder than he already is! I have peace of mind when I'm at work knowing they have each other. I get real sad walking around my complex and seeing all the single, lonely cats that also never get to go outside. 😥

Agree, cats should have a cat-buddy..my cats would be so sad without their buddy. (Well, they are actually brother & sister...so even family). They love to cuddle, groom & play with each other....they often in the same room as the other. Even keep close together on our walks in nature (even when off-leash, what is most of the time).

Some people have said that siamese cats are mean! Which I don't believe is all true. Sometimes you have to ask if somebody has been abusive to them or treated them badly.

I agree. In my experience Siamese are one of the sweetest & most affectionate breeds. Regardless of breed, cats are only "mean", when people are mean to them and/or their life isn`t species appropriate. In the almost 9 years with my Siamese together they never scratched, bit, hissed or growled at me. Even at the vet, I can hold them alone without any problem while they getting a vaccine or taken blood. Siamese bond very closely with their owner. My Siamese follow me around everywhere, mine even follow me outside on nature walks for hours without leash. (They are indoor cats, but I go out with them every second day). They never walked off in all those years and are very loyal. I think people who don`t understand cats, and especially the special needs of Siamese (high need of play every day f.e.), "make" their Siamese "mean"....but they Siamese are simply frustrated with their life.

people only say cats are mean because people are too immersed in dogs and not willing to learn and understand how cats work, and it's extremely annoying and tiring in this society. people don't know how to handle or pet cats appropriately, or when is and when is not the right time to pet them, so a cat will bite. sometimes cats are abused because they're small and deemed not as dangerous as dogs, so they develop aggressive defensive behaviors. society is obsessed with dogs, but cats always get the short end of the stick as the moody and evil house pet.

I know indoor cats who don't care much about their owner or even get quickly grumpy when getting pet. I know outdoors cats missing their owner more than those indoor cats. So, I really think it's the overall relationship/bond & but also the tendencies of certain breeds. (Siamese Cats are known to be very attached to humans, except they are handle wrong of course) They were just curious about the camera, because at this spot, there was never anything laying around. ^_^

Cats need lots of toys and stuff so they don't miss human company that much. They have to be entertained all the time^^

I do a lot with them, but still they miss me when I'm gone. They are more bonded to human company than most cats I know. We play every day 3 times (with toys/fetch, also agility), then walk/hike every second day at least for 2-3 hours in nature (+ go on bikes rides to get to various natural areas up to 12-14km.), go occasionally to the zoo & I take them with on vacation. I constantly think of something new/to train them new things. A couple of weeks ago I started training them to go into water, we do that almost every day. (They go into the water themselves till their belly now) They have 3 big cat-trees, a cat-walk/shelving, a over 2m scratching post, tunnels etc. (I made a cat play room for them, where we play Agility) Also they have each other, they play some "wrestling" every day before sleeping time. They do have a lot on their plate every week, so they shouldn't be bored...

Poor babies 😢😢😢. They don’t need toys they have each other. What they need is their parent(s)!!! They have feelings and are very smart. They know the difference between toys and their parent. You are actually a very responsible owner as you have two cats to try and minimize any anxiety for the kitties when you leave. Not even kids need “toys”. They need loving parents to pay attention and give them love. Unfortunately life has all of us running by the seat of our pants and even kids exhibit anxiety. Well, they have each other. When I`m gone for more time (f.e. for work), then they will cuddle up together. They never reacted to a TV or screen of any kind and they usually don't play with toys, when I'm not playing with them with the toys. (they bring the toy to me or just sit next to it and look at me, as if they expect something). They are just very attached to me, because we do a lot of activities together. (we go multiple times a week on walks in nature, always go on vacation together etc.) They are basically like my children...

Traveler's Garden ... you know one thing I like ... that you can take them on walks/other excursions without a leash and they stay together with each other and you, and don't just run off somewhere. I haven't heard of many cats being able to do that. Did you need to train them to go off-leash and stay together?

I trained them to follow me off-leash a couple of years ago (they are now almost 9 years old, we go on walks since they were 6 months old), but I never trained them to keep so close to each other on our walks, they did that from the very beginning. It is quite unusual that they are basically glued to each other while being outside, mostly Otani, my white cat being in the front and Yozora, my grey cat, following right behind him. They are siblings, Otani is the brother & Yozora the sister. They also call & howl for each other a lot, especially if they can't see each other in tall grass or something.

Thank you! Sorry for you loss. I lost my Blue Point Siamese (seen in this video) around 2 months ago. She had colon cancer & it went downhill very quick. Just in 4 days she had to be put to sleep, because she was in so much agony & there was no possibility to help her. My white Siamese (her brother) mourned terribly. Screaming almost without break for days, even started refuse to eat. I got him quickly 2 new cat friends & since then he isn't sad anymore. He has now a Burmese & Bengal as friends. Seeing him happy helped me as well to get better. So, maybe getting yourself 2 Siamese or similar will help you as well. It's important to get 2...since their playfulness & happiness between each other is so beautiful & calming. Especially when they are kittens.

I took her to the vet and they did some blood test. It all came out negative so they gave her some IV and antibiotics for 10 days. After 10 days there was no improvement and she still wasn't eating. I made an appointment to put her to sleep but she didn't make it till morning. She was down to only 1.5 lbs. It was killing me to see my little girl like that... She was literally attached to me. When I am taking a shower, she would wait for me... As it wasn't enough my Cindy, the one looks identical your white cat stopped eating 3 weeks after Angie was gone. She refused even her favorite foods and treats. After only 3 days, she was gone too... They both were 16 years old... I still have 4 more cats but I still miss babies. I have been looking for another Siamese kitten everyday but no luck so far... Sorry to hear that. Mh...I wonder why your other cat died from the same illness. Do they go outside? Maybe a neighbor put rat poison out somewhere or other poison or they ate from the same poisonous plant. Or somebody put into meat needles or other bad things & put it into a bush...then the cats ate it & could've had an intestinal obstruction. Did the vet do an x-ray? (He should've, when a cat doesn't eat after 3 days! Because after 3 days of starving cats start to get liver failure...so then something needs to be done quick. If necessary even an operation to look into the cat.) Or it's an infectious illness, that they caught from other outdoor cats. Vets can do autopsies btw...meaning after death, they can tell you why your cat died. Are your other cats well? I checked your videos. :)

@@TravelersGarden_dgdr Sorry for the delay... I had a pinched nerve on my back and wasn't able to move for 5 days... My cats are all in door cats. When my babies stopped eating I took them to see a vet and they did a detailed blood work. They did not find any problems but they still gave antibiotics and IV. Nothing helped. However they did not do any x-rays... My babies pretty much died of old age :-(

My Siamese would do the sane thing. Remember once everyone in house went out except myself, and cat went room to room meowing. I called to him and he came running to the sound of my voice. He was very glad to see me and proof that while cats are independent creatures, the normalcy of a family environment is something they like. Change it and appears to bother them.

Otani isn`t a flame point, he is a foreign white...meaning he is pure white without any other color. Foreign white Siamese are very rare, so most people never heard of them.

Some ideas, do what people do for dogs with separation anxiety, (never make leaving a big issue - not that you had? same when returning ignore them for first 5- 10 minutes then great them just so its always calm no big deal) catnip sprinkled on fave toys to interest them or toys with balls rings anything they like to play with holding interest so they are occupied not to bored, most cats just crash when we are not home. If they are strictly indoors consider harness leash training walking outdoors, saw your site awesome job beautiful cats these two are spoiled!! They love their walks

I agree with your tips. I practically do every single thing. I just leave the house without any talking, and when I come home I just say a short "Hi there" and go into the kitchen preparing their food or something. Normally I play with them before leaving the house, around 10-20 minutes, then they go to sleep when I`m gone (they may meow once or twice...). In this video I just went out for 15 minutes to the bakery without playing with them...that is the result. ^_^ Yes, I walk them every second day...they love their walks in nature. Great that you are so interested in keeping your cats happy, I don`t know a lot of owner who spend so much time thinking through those kind of things that carefully. The bird-thing will not work for my cats though...they love to hunt them. Especially my female cat is a big hunter, catches even snakes.

Not all white cats are Siamese. Yours could be a american shorthair, british shorthair-mix or something, almost all breeds have a white version. Even if your cat has blue eyes, that doesn't mean it's Siamese. The character might be a better indicator, f.e. if your cat talks very much, fetches toys for you, follows you around everywhere, is extremely cuddly & wants attention basically all the time etc. If the character fits, than your cat might be a Siamese.

I know that my cat is Siamese for sure, because I know his parents (both Siamese with pedigree). Also the other cat in the video is his sister, she has the typical coloring of a Siamese.
