“Mr. Fear” quickly jumped to the top of my all time favorite songs when the music video came out and I heard it for the first time. I first heard you guys when I listened to “The Wolf” and you guys never cease to disappoint. I can’t wait to see your next stuff. Keep up the amazing music! You’ve earned a fan for life!

This is a nice re-imagining of an already good song that fits my tastes better than the original I must admit, but the darker "tone" if I may call it that triggers a really emotional response in me. It may have just been reading the lyrics and fully understanding all of them, or the context I got from the song in this form, but the lyrics make me think of a mental illness personified, most strongly relating to OCD, and anxiety. The way the song is sung from the perspective of that idea I have of mental illness, it using pet names because it's so familiar and assuring that "no cure is coming" got me to tear up on my first listen, and my second just now... The song is really moving which I think is something art should be praised for, but it does that by instilling a dread of hopelessness in me that's really depressing... Thanks to anyone who bothered to read my long ass poorly structured interpretation of this song but I feel like a lot of people may be able to relate to this song in that context. And it's just really good, who doesn't like talking about stuff that's good?

Mr Fear got a similar response out of me, but as an amateur writer it also crystalized my ability to deal with it. When an impression arrives so strongly, it gives you a good chance to turn it into something by your own volition. I got an hour of sleep after truly hearing this song. I looped the song and didn't stop listening as I ended up writing a 4000+ word short story in just over 4 hours, which is an extremely fast pace for me. Which is to say, holy crap this is good listening.

Another person agreeing here, I have really bad Anxiety to the point it became the root reasons for my Depression and wrecked my first chance at college or my dream. It's like the other 'you' that keeps talking to you, keeps talking you down even though it's your own mind you start to personify as something else so you can separate and call it 'insincere' as the song calls it. It's really damn fucking realistic if you view it that way. There's always hope in you that is in conflict with that super pessimistic and depressing side of you causing a sort of self talking situation in your head and I feel like that the pessimistic side is literally as the song calls, Mr Fear. Also fuck "To mind control your needs" is amazing in that sense too. Fear even unrelated to mental illness is something everyone has and it can make people believe some dumb things, that's why propaganda and repeated 'education' to feed people's fear has worked in history and even now. It controls you if you feed it.

I agree with you, and I don't. When I'm watching the original is enhanced by the story that accompanies the music, the complement each other wonderfully and I think Siames got everything they could have wanted from the animation. But when I'm just listening, not watching, but just letting myself wholly listen to the tunes, the remix speaks very strongly to my anxieties and the memories of a lost brother to his own depression. I find this and the original both very good and surprisingly... cathartic.
