Rodtang has always been an aggressive fighter since he started. His style was not suited with the 5 rounds pointing system and so he couldn’t win any title on neither lumpinee or ratcha. Since he is a heavy puncher with granite chin, One s smaller gloves are extremely beneficial him more than any other Thais. BTW, I personally believe his core strength relied heavily on his defensive abilities such as keeping the right distance as well as evading shots. I

I am fucking shocked! This is a complete different fighter...His ONE FC career has completely ruined his Muay Thai, Rodtang was an intelligent tactical fighter, now he fights like a brainless telegraphing machine. 😢

no, there are still loads of elite thai fighters like kumandoi, chalamchon, khunsueklek, wanchainoi, yothin, view, chaila, chalam, etc. are all outside ONE right now. One of the tragic aspects of muay thai right now is that most of the content/news articles/footage of the best thais are in the Thai language, so non-Thai speakers are locked behind the language barrier.

@@JayGatz-sd9qj thats definitely a possibility for some of them, but not all of them it seems. there are some gyms in thailand who are adamant about sending their fighters to ONE even if some of them dont fit ONE's muay thai scoring and rules, (and then they get destroyed) but then there are also gyms who dont care about ONE. so theres that

I'd suspect someone from the stadium scene since there's still a lot of talent there, but I've been thinking about it more since I haven't really seen any other "elite" Thais at his weight class recently; just a little curious. I also know ONE's marketing does play quite a role in who MT's being exposed too (westerners mostly from what I've seen).

Rodtang is the best. It’s funny how so many foreigners are always criticizing him when the reality is that his resume is better than any foreign Muay Thai fighters of this generation ( safe for maybe Nadaka ). Even in Kickboxing rules Rodtang was able to beat Tenshin up ( won round 3-4-5 ) and should have won by KO in round 4 as Tenshin needed 30 seconds to recover from a legal knee to the body by Rodtang. That’s a KO right there and then but instead Tenshin faked that it was a strike below the belt. Rodtang beating Tenshin is impressive as that was Rodtang first ever fight under Kickboxing rules and also Tenshin is considered one of the best Kickboxer of this generation.

Rodtangs resume is not even that great, his best win in the stadiums is an old Koanar. A prime Koanar would’ve schooled him.

@@milesy2k7 I am comparing Rodtang overall resume to foreign Muay Thai fighters so why do you bring Kaonar who is a Thai when that is irrelevant to the discussion ? The fact is that Rodtang overall resume ( Traditional Muay Thai, international Muay Thai and Kickboxing ) is stronger than any foreign Muay Thai fighter of this generation safe for maybe Nadaka. Kaonar was not old at all when he lost to Rodtang in their rematch. Kaonar was maybe past his peak but to call him old is nonsense. If you want to look at an old Kaonar then go watch his last 6 fights : those 3 fights in Cambodia against Long Samnang, Moeun Sokhuch and Sot Kevin as well as his 3 fights in ONE FC against Elbrus Osmanov, Saemapetch Fairtex and Julio Lobo.

@@milesy2k7 If Rodtang resume is not that great then i guess every single foreign fighters ( safe for Nadaka ) of this generation has an even worse resume than Rodtang by far then. People like Youssef Boughanem or Rafi Bohic who are some of the very best foreign Muay Thai fighters from 2017 to the present day simply do not have anywhere as good of a resume as Rodtang that is a fact. Funny how the people who criticize Rodtang’s resume are always foreigners when the reality is that foreign fighters are nowhere as good as Rodtang.
