That house at 12:10 looks similar to the Heffernan's home from "The King of Queens", is it not?

That’s because the king of queens reused some footage of the same house

Looking at it, Sibs was basically what happened to the soap opera Eldorado a year later in the UK. ABC saw the success of The Tracey Ullman Show and wanted another hit just like it. Hence why most of the team, including Dan Castellaneta (not to mention Julie Kavner and Sam McMurray for guest stars), were brought on. Not to mention the hype. Sadly, it was a massive flop (like Eldorado, there would have behind the scenes issues, not least with the casting of Castellaneta, which wouldn't have sat well with Marsha Mason or Margaret Colin, given Dan was still practically unknown compared to them) So bad, ABC pulled the show early and haven't aired the rest of the 22 produced episodes since. It did air in the UK later on Sky One, but made little impression. A note out of this is Dan Castellaneta didn't get another regular live action role. All of his live action appearance since have been one shot or guest roles.

@@shaneharrisnj3484 Dan's arrival was at the point LA Law got new showrunners for the 7th season. They got fired midway and a new one came in, who managed to turn the show around to have NBC give it a final season. ITV in the UK also lost interest, as the last two seasons ended up on Sky One. (Castellaneta's appearance on L.A Law was a guest appearance though, as opposed to his casting on Sibs, where he was a main cast member. I think James L Brooks wanted to see if Dan could be successful as Julie Kavner was on Rhoda).

Castellaneta was never funny. He's only good as the voice of Homer Simpson. Everything I've ever seen him in, he sucked.

Of course, I heard that Castellaneta had a crush on Kavner when she first starred in the CBS sitcom Rhoda (a spin-off of The Mary Tyler Moore Show, which Brooks also created) in the 1970s. And now, here they are: voicing Homer and Marge for over 30 years.

Exactly. I despise "sitcoms" like this. People just crying and talking about relationships. What the hell is funny about that? George on Seinfeld summed it up perfectly when he said "Nowadays whenever you turn on a tv, all you see is four morons sitting around an apartment whining about their dates!" Truer words were never spoken. Almost every sitcom in the 90s was like that.

I wonder why George Clinton's theme sounds so much like what James Brown should've done by that point.

Didn't help ABC had high expectations as it came from the same creative team behind The Tracey Ullman Show. (The theme was even sung by George Clinton, who sang the theme to Tracey's show). Sibs got a full 22 episode order, such was the expectation. Unfortunately as seen with the soap Eldorado a year later, it ended up being a massive flop.

@@andrewbarton2590 Lol, I just saw that you made this same comment two years ago on here. You came back two years later to watch it again? Lol. BTW, I never knew George Clinton did the Tracey Ullman Show theme song. I always liked that song but never knew who it was.
