That line near the end at the dinner table where Diaz is like “It wasn’t personal” and Alejandro hits him with the “Para mi, si” is so fucking cold. I know it’s just “for me it is” but the delivery. Wife knew it too. She had that “Damn, that’s it then” look. Such a great movie.
@DB1downtown3 ай бұрын
The wife knew, and her obvious terror was quite gut wrenching to watch. This movie is what I'd call 50 shades of gray...reality meets our better nature throughout and we then begin questioning our moral compass. If there is to be any progress against those with no rules...it's going to get messy. A true masterwork and enjoyed Devin's reaction.
@irateoperator10742 ай бұрын
Phenomenal scene, phenomenal delivery. I love the small detail of Fausto speaking in past tense, whereas Alejandro uses present. Such a simple yet stone-cold way to get his intentions across.

Part of the original (not sure if it's still part of the recent remakes) lore for Ghost was that he was recruited by Price after he and his crew were wiped out/tortured by a cartel boss.

The passageway the cia was entering was technically US. The CIA, which is international, can't operate in the US unless attached to an American type agency, such as the FBI or DOJ. Alejandro went down a tunnel leading him into Mexico. Kate was not supposed to go down that tunnel. She was expected to stay on the US side of the border during the gun battle.

If I don't remember wrong the writer, Taylor Sheridan, said that in his studies before writing this movie he got so much real information that he took into the making of the script but also left sooooo much out because he thought that it would never be able to make it past the rating. It's a sick world and though all the things in this movie it's just the tip of an iceberg. Second movie is also great!

My personal take on Silvio (the mule cop) is that he was dragged into it. We see for the most part he seems to be a decent father but has his vices (shown with the alcohol in the morning coffee). My assumption is he probably got caught doing something minor by a corrupt cop and was blackmailed.
@SosaBoii-t1c3 ай бұрын
I think the other cops pressured him into playing ball against his morals which caused him to drink more and you can see he had to break the news to his wife when he came home with loads of money or caught hiding it and she didn’t approve that’s why she gives him a dirty look

The Posse Comitatus Act is a United States federal law (18 U.S.C. § 1385, original at 20 Stat. 152) signed on June 18, 1878, by President Rutherford B. Hayes that limits the powers of the federal government in the use of federal military personnel to enforce domestic policies within the United States.

This is wny we can't deploy active duty military into homeland areas. Navy seals are not allowed to wage war in Chitown. You won't hear the Marines controlling riots in L.A. gangland. The CIA is considered part of the military in this sense, so, in order to operate within they need another agency to be part.

Great reaction. It was easy to miss, but they did say at one point that the CIA is not allowed to operate on US soil without a domestic law enforcement agency being attached (in other words present). So in other words I guess they needed her around to make whatever they did on the US side of the border seem legit - and for her knowledge of the local US police departments (at one point he also asks her if she has any contacts in a local SWAT team). At the end they just wanted her to sign it all off as being correct and legal.

What's crazy to me besides the movie being a great thriller and entertaining is that were all dealt different hands and it's all relative and built on a perspective. Some of us are born into trust funds and parents with extraordinary wealth and others are just trapped with no options. Sometimes they're not bad they're just trying to make it and the line between good evil becomes a blurred flash of everyday events happening right in front of us interpreted as such.

US made over 500b just from Opium, made more than ridiculous amount in Vietnam(before, during and after the war), heroin. The only few that US never got their hands on, Kosovo and Nortn Korea. One of the big dog that is way high up, I'm just guessing here, Hunter Biden.
