While the artist is showing great technique, the arrangement lacks quite a bit. Chopin's intentions are lost in this arrangement. First, the dynamics are not at all reflective of the waltz for piano. Secondly, way too many areas have the melody against a single bass note. Whoever did the arrangement was obviously unaware that removing harmonic accompaniment is sacreligious.

Wow, where do I begin. I'll hand it to her... She's a fine classical guitarist... As a pianist who has played lots of Chopin (including this Waltz), where in the world did she find this arrangement? It's awful. Listen to Tatyana Ryzhkova play the waltz.Totally night and day difference. Firstly, her tone she's using in the main theme is horrible. It's too bright and too brittle. Finger nails or not, that sharp sound is way out of context for that piece (and would not work for many of Chopin's works). Secondly, her mordents are both misplaced and she's often playing the wrong notes. A mordent is an ornamental figure. With those, she is far off the beaten path. Thirdly, after the cadence of the 'A" section, it begins the up tempo "B" section. The left hand accompaniment has chords on beats 1, 2, AND 3. She has to play accompanying notes on all three beats in the base line. Chopin's original piece has chords and understandably, she won't be able to play three note figures in that accompaniment, but at least play an interval that contains the root and the dominant 7 tone. She uses no real phrasing. Chopin was all about phrasing. First, you HAVE to use phrasing in Chopin. Secondly, you have to phrase the correct melodic fragments. There are much more accurate arrangements of this Waltz in the classical guitar literature. A fine guitarist as herself has to compare the arrangement to the original. She's done herself a disservice by aying this arrangement.
