I wish I could buy and own one again.I stopped playing classic guitar ,someone borrowed my Harmony years ago, then broke it, alas, I cant afford one now.I can play before like Recuerdo de la Alhambra, some Segovia, etc.I play rock, blues, in my Gibson, but in my age now, Im 76, I love playing classic and old music. I think I might disagree a bit here, this superb guitar sounds very modern to my ears, and also as if made for concert and studio performances of music by Satie, Bach, and for modern classical music and even classy folk and pop songs and instrumentals, as demonstrated.

Hello Steffen, as mentioned in the video, this guitar is made traditionally, but it has many characteristics of a modern guitar, such as round sound, loud and great resonance. That is what I also meant in the video: I usually prefer the sound of modern guitars more, but with this traditionally built guitar, I felt very comfortable. Thanks for your comment!

I love the world cup; too bad Bulgaria again missed it:) and I love Siccas, this is the place where guitar things happen. I would very much love to work at Siccas; not joking. Jon and Jouyan, great demo as usual. Braun, Eden, and Weinzierl, wonderful guitars indeed. Braun is my choice because of my preference for traditional sound but Weinzierl is very very close. Prediction: Brazil and Siccas meet in the finals. 3-0 Siccas.

All guitars here sound very nice but trying to define differences through a tiny iPad speaker doesn’t do them any favours. Other things I would like to know is the height of the action at the nut and the twelfth fret. In addition to this what strings are on each guitar? Are they all the same strings? . I could never buy a guitar on line, as the feel is so important. Details of neck curve, neck width, at the nut and string length could be discussed not just the sound, although the sound is all important again it’s a very personal thing and this is one of the reason’s why often one good guitar to another is more about the feel and individual taste. Thank you for posting these wonderful instruments all are a credit to their luthier’s.
@SiccasGuitars
@SiccasGuitars 2 жыл бұрын
Hi Malcom, Thank you for your comment. Specific information like nut/neck width and many other details can be found on our website for each guitar. You can find the links in the video description. We use the same strings on all guitars. These are carbon strings from the Knobloch company.

The third guitar sounded lesser than the other two, but, did it have anything to do with you not facing the camera like you did with the other two? Of course I'm not aware of your mic placement etc, and I'm sure the third guitar sounds much superior to the classical guitars I own... I simply want to know that this was a fair comparison... because I've learned from recording for decades now that just turning even two inches if reference to the mic or mics can alter the sound greatly. Love your video though, and I'm liking and subscribing!

It speaks of the subtlety, experience, and listening capabilities of the luthier. They have managed to match the wood density, thickness, bracing, and proportions to bring out the most clarity and reverberation from the soundboard, creating natural colorful overtones with discrete harmonics. It is truly a joy to hear!

Last one: "dark but very crisp" is a good description of its voice, but I say instead of dark, it's a little stuffy especially at lower end. BTW this "French Polish" business might look good but painting using a brush with NATURAL lacquer (&colour) IS FAR MORE MUSICAL having said all that, I actually prefer the first, it has a bigger more ranged & distinct voice OF EACH STRING, harder to play, when individual strings talk somewhat separately, than an instrument playing as a whole, but once a player has mastered what he feels under his fingers, it is extremely rewarding as the music shines through
@SansNeural
@SansNeural 2 жыл бұрын
The difference between the first and second... both sound beautiful but the first makes me think of the person at the party who's voice is very clear but speaks just a bit too loudly. Or an opera singer with perfect pitch and tone, but used to belting it out in an unamplified forum. I thought I loved it until I heard the second guitar. It's more like a laid-back ballad singer with a complex but relaxed voice and no pressure to be loud. I wonder if the soundboard wood - cedar vs spruce - is responsible for their primary differences? As to the third guitar made by Ms Weinzierl - she is obviously a very talented luthier who I expect to make an enormous, positive contribution to the industry in her career. Just amazing talent.
@piptar1996
@piptar1996 2 жыл бұрын
@@SansNeural Thank you for you words that I agree with, however I do think the first is also capable of whisper if the player is able to extract it, further in time as the instrument is played it will develop a wider singing range with ease. Actually after hearing the second, I went back & listened to the first again, cause my impression was just like yours, & I did it again after the third! It was then that I was convinced of the first, for the reasons stated. Thank you

Lovely guitars number 1 was really nice No2 had a bit too much overtone to my ear but spruce will mellow and sweeten over time but No 3 that is a different guitar for sound etc I don't think it sounds traditional in a way, it has a sound of it's own but not modern. The bass does not sound deep to me,(perhaps I mean dark ) although it is, because of the separation of each string and defined sound. It has the ability to sound like two guitars playing to my ear because of that and the way the trebles are defined and that is all in a good way. I am very intrigued by this guitar it sounds like an UK Luthier which I heard many years ago, who I can not think of his name at the moment but She has taken that sound and developed it. Sustain.definition,projection sweetness, singing quality and evenness across the strings. I would love to hear a range of music played on this guitar to hear how it handles various periods of music. It is great to hear these guitars.
