DC motors, with their fine turning, vs AC pumps have changed the industry. Plus DC motors are like led lights with great electric efficiency.

Keeping power cords out of the tank just seems like a no brainer,water and electricity don't mix well. Coral food:I've been using Red Sea's Reefpower plus all in one food for corals,soak/Rehydrate fish food,after doing this going on eight weeks I've seen noticeable more robust tissue,nice coloration the corals,my fist are showing vibrant color and more natural movement around the tank..like to get your take on Reefpower plus Thomas..I'm sold on it.

Correction: I would think it is a dead man's switch. So the pump does not send you notification when the power goes out or the internet disconnects because it just can't. What does however is the cloud service behind the pump. And this is the first snag with these systems... that cloud thing has to be around tomorrow for that to be worth anything. I would probably just set up the neptune one and then I covered everything with just one cloud-based dead man's switch instead of littering my tank with a jumble of 5 different manufacturer cloud accounts.

You are correct, it utilizes a cloud to send the alerts! I just simplified the process for the spotlight rather than diving into how the pump is used in the process of sending alerts. Really good point though!

When promo sdc pumps were sent to my shop, they just didn’t connect to any cloud or WiFi, as well the problem happened to our colleagues in different shops. We tried communicating and addressing this issue directly with Sicce but they didn’t respond

I only have a very small saltwater tank and some corals were not looking so good so I bought the small Sicce powerhead. Super easy installation, love the fact that it can be afixed with a magnet and it is so super silent it is unbelievable. Did check out Tunze pumps online but they are costly so Petco had these Sicce ones. I will observe and see how long these pumps last but especially for the small one I bought for my small nano aquarium I am already impressed that it does not put a really powerful stream out but more like a wave motion similar to the ocean.

Jebao makes really nice pumps. Their slw line mimics nero 5 and i think it looks much more slimline than vortech.

Yep! You can set it to run one speed 24/7 if you'd like. Just select the constant speed mode in the app when setting it up.

We usually like to go with random flow patterns, so Sicce's Reef Crest mode that is built into their app is our go-to in a lot of cases.

It does have a batter backup port on the controller, but you would need some adapters as the Ecotech cord is too small to plug into the SDC controller.

Not sure which one came out first off the top of my head, but Sicce has been using this form factor for quite some time. Both pumps definitely have a separate mold and different size.

Sicce has vertiually no customer service and make it super hard to help i even reached out to BRS and no help yet its bin months and mybfish tank suffered tremenus loss in fish and corals wouldn't recomend.
