Tom struggles with bouts of depression and anxiety, he says his music and his work ethic are his therapy. I think the closing scene is significant, behind the curtain he is just an ordinary guy washing his cup in the sink. And yes, his versatility is amazing. #HOG UK

Dear Rappers, the song that got him noticed, and White Boy, were both on the 2018 album “Deathreats.” That was right after his struggle with addiction and depression!

Fame is a double edge sword. Tom battles depression and anxiety. It can be overwhelming. It gets to him sometimes. But his music is his therapy. There is another song, Balloons, which he was feeling the same way. Tom and Niva have been friends almost 17 years now and 6 years they have been a couple. I love Toms interspective songs because so many people can relate to them. If there is an emotion that you are feeling, Tom has a song for it. Some of Tom's songs are very deep and will take you on an emotional rollercoaster ride. Enjoyed the reaction. Much ❤

The song Dear Rappers, got him both good, and bad, attention, because people jumped to wrong conclusions, and attacked Tom, calling him a racist, though Dear Rappers wasn’t “race” related, but rap music content related! Tom realized that Fame isn’t just good, and he was actually receiving “Deathreats,” thus the album name!

As a man that's dealt with depression from an early age until today at 54, depression brings on a darkness that most will never know. My brain took a beating starting from 2 until my early 30's. So many concussions, i can't remember them all. I've been homeless and I've had money. It doesn't matter because nothing can take it away. I live my life for my autistic son. If not for him, i would no longer be here.

I'm pretty sure he was struggling with the fame he was getting so fast after those first three songs blew him up even though he'd been singing for several years before them. It was pretty instant fame and it would be pretty intense.

Not many people see this song. I personally love it. He is saying everything is fake. The things you read about artists is usually fake. Life is 1000x more complicated. You need experience and the ability to read between the lines to know anything because everything is fake.

I believe he's expressing what's going on in his life at the time which is he just went he hadn't been famous to go from living in Crenshaw to being recognized everywhere and making a good amount of money is highly stressful plus he was dealing with not just his mental issues but I believe this was right around the time of his relapse or before he actually quit I'm not sure exactly it's been awhile since I looked that far back in his catalog to figure out where you was at the time.
