It's amazing how Fischer created winning attacks so early in games. Must have been unnerving to his opponents since they were so high level but got beaten almost off the bat.

amazing chess player-how does he see so many moves ahead,its like he knows the future. that's why there was no one like him. no one could beat him consistently. he would beat any of the chess players I saw past and present, including carlsen,kasparov and the rest.

It is so easy to find the "killer moves". But it is not the same with reaching these perfect positions... Fisher is a genious. In my opinion, he and Tal are the best players of all time.

Greetings Mato. Just an idea as most of annotated chess videos (in internet) are about victories of chesslegends like Fischer, Karpov etc.maybe one could present also games where these players are beaten. Naturally these players won most of their games but lost some as well. Fischers stats were 417 win - 85 loss- 246 draw. This is not meant as critisism since I like your videos but as an idea to think about. So called underdogs winning is interesting as well.

perhaps if Tal is playing the black pieces the game can transpose to a draw or win game or will reach end game which, if black will lost, it will be a very difficult win by white with nearly losing the game.
@beri4138

5:23, Isn't Bd6 a better killa move? Any piece that can threaten the e7 square can also be taken immediately by the knights. It will be: Bd6, Nd5, Nxd5, Qc5, Nxc5, Bf6, Nxf6. The rook is blocked by the knight and none of the remaining pieces can do anything against Qa7#.
@miklas-dj9kd
@miklas-dj9kd 10 жыл бұрын
I think it can be defended by Be6, which attacks Bd6 indirectly (pawn on e7 is no longer pinned) and allows black to castle when white moves his Bishop to safety, which gives up a lot of white's advantage from his superior development. Fischer's sacrifice basically forces black to give up his castling right and it doesn't give up the pin on Kf6, which means that black's Rh8, Bg7 and Kf6 are out the game, while all black's pieces are active in the attack.

At 6:16, it would be much better for black to play Rxc3, and in the continuation that you have demonstrated black is a pawn down but it's not over at all, black is still fighting. Also, at 7:10 it would be better for black to play Rd8 and then Ke8. Black couldn't use his rook in the defense and it was the main reason that he lost the game.

Mato, at move 15 my very first thought for black was playing e5. This eliminates dark square weaknesses, gains tempo, gains center dark square control and opens up light square diagonals for black's unopposed light square bishop. Of course this is just a theoretical analysis, not a true positional analysis but I can't help but wonder why Camara did not consider this. It seems too obvious (even without hindsight), am I missing something?

@FabricioHupp
@FabricioHupp 6 жыл бұрын
No, this was Elder Câmara, his brother. This game is analysed in the book "Diagonais - Crônicas de Xadrez". It's an amazing analysis, cause Câmara was a big fan of Fishcer, and had the chance to play him in the Olympiad, and tells lots of details about the game. For example, Fischer arrived 5 minutes late, and stared at Câmara briefly and thought about 5 minutes after he played 3...Nf6 instead of 3...cxd4.
