"Sicilienne" was composed by Gabriel Fauré in 1893 as music for a play for The Grand Théâtre, but the theatre when bakrupt and the music was left unperformed. Sixteen years later he wrote the final form of Sicilienne as part of a four-movement suite, giving the main theme to the flute. Here it is performed by St. John's pianist Jim Ahrend, and flutist Carrie Martinek.
