I live in Florida USA and it gets very hot and humid here in the summer months as well .My wife is Brazilian so we are familiar with the heat. My great grandparents were from San Giuseppe Jato and Palermo. I hope to visit in 2023. Excellent video Ciao for now.

Cefalu... Just been there July 2023. Think about it. An old medieval town hardly changed over hundreds of years. Do you think the sewage system has been updated substantially? It's obvious they've done something as there's a newish sewage plant 1/2 a mile round the coast behind the old harbour wall. I was suspicious about how clean the water is and whilst on the beach looking for shelter from the sun, my wife and I walked about 100 yards away from the harbour wall along the beach. You can see that there are the remains of an old sewage system (Broken Concrete pipes and the casing). But, walking along that 100 yards there were at least 3 points where it was evident that 'Effluent' was being leached from the town. I've lived near a sewage plant myself previously and it was that smell. The harbour wall has a public toilet on it and you can access the 'Sea side' of the harbour wall and again the stench of sewage, which seems/smells as though it's being discharged directly into the sea? Because of the tidal range being so small and in the summer the water often very calm any waste is probably sitting on the bottom in the sand so isn't apparent, but I didn't stay in the water very long and avoided getting it in my mouth. Once home I researched further and found that the Med is in trouble and all the countries that use it as am open sewer are being encouraged to limit the waste pumped directly into it. With the amount of people in Cefalu in the summer I wouldn't be at all surprised if the sewage system cannot cope with the numbers.

I'll be on Sicily hopefully for most of November. I know weather can't be guaranteed but roughly what could I expect. I'm also looking for safe, easier access beaches as I'm 70, travelling alone. Can't wait to get there!

Sicily is so underrated. Absolutely stunning. I would advise not going in July-August. With climate change now it gets really hot.🥵

Thanks for your kind words! Yes totally agree it can get really really hot in summer! It always gets hot in July and August, my first time to Sicily in August was about 40 years ago and I can tell you that even back then it was VERY hot and everything was closed because of Ferragosto.

Ciao! We are a couple with no kids and want to go to Sicily this june for at least 3 weeks. We like beaches with as few people as possible, where we can relax and be half or fully naked. The problem is, we dont know where to book a B&B (or any other acommodation, if b&b is not in the area), and have wild beaches as near as possible. Do you maybe know of an area? We are coming with our car. We were thinking to change 3 areas, to stay 1 week in one part, the next week in a different part of Sicily. Are there any good options to spend a week on one of the islands, where we can be nude, if possible (it's not mandatory)? We don't care for museums and cathedrals and old towns. Just sea and beaches and good food. 💞💞💞🌊🌊🏖️🏖️☀️

Ciao The island's most famous nudist beach is located between Siculiana and Montallegro, in the province of Agrigento. It is made up of a long stretch of golden sand and occasional rock formations. I've never been but I hope this helps. I think its better if you split the 3 weeks in different areas. I would do one week taormina etna and that eastern area, another week in ragusa modica, siracusa, noto and the southern area and then the third week in trapani, egadi islands erice marsala etc... The best inaccessible beaches........avoid Mondello like the plague....especially the public area. Expensive and over rated.
