What an amazing start to Sicily after the madness of those ferries. That ancient greek theatre was amazing that blew me away! But one part of it the music and the drone footage just before you got onto the gondola to finish your trip down reminded me of watching a Jason Bourne movie just waiting for the cars or motorbikes doing a chase through those windy streets.

Wow, how stunning. Did you check the Greek Theatre for its acoustics? They are meant to be perfect. Glad to see you are picking up some sponsors to help keep you travelling and with good products. Loving the hike as well as the town, Palmiero? I think that opuntia cacti has become a noxious weed. Such glorious views, especially Mt Etna and the ancient ruins. Fab exercise with that hike. The ferry to get there looked pretty insane with its boarding process. Happy travels and thanks for sharing them with us!

Thanks Fiona, we appreciate your support and thoughtful comments each week. Glad you enjoyed this one. The cactus reminds me of a prickly pear which is an invasive weed in Australia. It’s certainly everywhere here in Sicily! No we didn’t think to check for acoustics! We’ve done some great hikes in Sicily and will do a video on them all soon.
@fionaludbrook8193
@fionaludbrook8193 12 күн бұрын
@@nigelandsueadventures It is prickly pear. I couldn't think of its common name. Opuntia is its botanical name. The fruits it produces are delicious and it was fruiting in the video. Heaps of Italian Aussies still grow it in their backyards for the fruit and keep it pretty controlled. It is a native if the Americas. You can also eat the leaves as long as you peel them and cut off the prickles. I had forgotten that the leaves get eaten in some South American countries. Delicious in salad. My gran used to love the fruit. Probably sounds geeky, but I do love my succulent plants. My gran got me into them as a kid!
