Went thru this in India all 5 trips i travelled there-- it would happen once during the month long trip, i always thought id actually die but would recover usually within a week. I realized it was from any fruit in india raw or juiced, unbottled water, chicken that was sitting out, and mango chutney. One time i had to do a 40 hour train ride in that condition and developed GBS after the trip. Really almost died that time but has a full recovery and looking back i cannot believe how dangerous it is in that from one minute to the next you're normal then deathly ill. Glad you're better, stay well!!

Best wishes to you. Sickness comes for a reason, to slow us down, to reset our perspective. It can be a gift in that we learn to rest, to appreciate what is right, to let go of the mind chatter bc it can be exhausting. As you feel better, milk that good feeling…Keep it going…carry that renewed perspective of love + appreciation of what is right, like health + full belly + you will feel soooo good!✨

Glad you're feeling better now! 6 days is a long time to deal w stomache issues in Mexico! If it hapoens again, def get medical attention sooner! I was sick for 2.5 days in Sayulita, but I'm pretty sure I got sick from a burger I ate in San Pancho. It was horrible projectile vomiting and the heat/dehydration just made it worse. My neck, shoulders and jaw got so tense and sore and got a headache, I thought I was going into cardiac arrest and had a panic attack! Luckily my illness passed quick. Electrolyte water, ginger tea, crackers, noodle soup (the Asian cup a noodle instant ones, probiotics, magnesium, zinc, AG1 powder, advil were all helpful for me. And also sleeping in a hammock! Very soothing! An old wives tale I did that I learned from my grandma who once put a piece of charcoal on my tummy and wrapped my midsection with newspaper ... I took 2 charcoal capsules and wrapped them in a kleenex and placed it on my belly tucked unto the waistband of my PJ bottoms and I set the intention for whatever bug was in my belly to be absorbed by the charcoal capsule. Sounds crazy, but I did it in the 2nd night and tye next day I was better. Likely I didn't have what you had, but I'd like to think it helped. LOL

I got it December 2022 too. I searched for "English speaking doctor" and ended up at a doctor's office across the street from the malecon (Board walk). It had very large windows looking towards the ocean, 100 feet away. The doctor seemed very competent, definitely kind and talkative about life. We really liked him. Total cost was $35 American for the visit and $30-40 for medication without insurance. I am sure it would have been over $1000 total in the US. Just unbelievable!

If Mexico is anything like my home country in south america, there are a few things I would recommend. I suffered from parasites many times. 1. Avoid drinking juices and cocktails with juice. 2. Avoid raw salads when eating out. When making your own salads, dry each vegetable before cutting or rinse them with the boiling water. 3. Drink only bottled water, or boil your drinking water for at least 3 min. Use this water for smoothies and juices. 4. When eating fruit, after rinsing them, dry them very well. 5. Basically avoid tap water like the plague. Raw salads and juices could have some tap water residue. The charcoal is very good when things get messy. Some people take parasite pills each year to avoid parasite accumulation in the gut. I'm glad you are better and as a fellow sufferer, I hope this is helpful 🙂

Well after 3 weeks or so started having diarreah and got up to 100 times a day. My advice, wash teeth, hands and fruit with bottled water. When eating out make sure smoothies use bottled water. I personally would avoid salads and soups.you will recover after meds, but can reoccur if you dont take precautions

I spent 3 months at Puerto Escondido from Nov-Feb. I was sick an entire 2 months while I was there. About a month into my trip the whole town had an explosion of sick people. It was bad. I had the same symptoms as this you tuber. I was told that it was the cool beach air in the mornings and evenings. The hostels did not help either. I know that when I did not go to the beach that I felt better.
@bethmccall9254 Жыл бұрын
Fresh air can’t be bad for you, can it? Was it the toxic sargassum by chance?
@lowell628 ай бұрын
Puerto has had significant issues with their one water treatment plant not being able to handle the town's rapid expansion. At one point they had raw sewage running onto beach and swimmers were getting ill. They improved the water treatment plant however the problem still has not been entirely remedied. This is a potential issue with a place that gains popularity too fast for the infrastructure to keep up, especially in third world countries where the issues already exist and more often than not are lacking urban planning. I adore Mexico and have my permanent residency - and yup, it still rates as a third world country.

Im so glad you got medical help and are recovering! That kind of sickness is no joke. Glad you're feeling better. Don't know how long you have been where you are now but our guess, (my wife & myself) is that you picked this up in Sayaulita. We were just there for a month traveling up and down the entire Riviera Nayarit and the water/beach in Sayaulita is very dirty contaminated and being underreported. I just personally had a procedure done here in Mazatlan by a Urologist and while having medical issues in a foreign country can be intimidating, I'm happy to say that the care I received was above what I have ever had back in the States.

The only thing I worry about when traveling solo is getting sick. I had dysentery in Thailand, lost 25 lbs in 2 weeks. Skin and bones when I returned to the US. Food poisoning in Sayulita, that will teach me not to eat shrimp from a small restaurant with no refrigeration. Covid in Norway last spring thought I was going to become a Norwegian homeless person as all hotels were booked, no rooms available. I found one hotel room at $400 per night, it was nice with a harbor view and breakfast. Hindsight I was not that sick, I should have purchased camping gear and camped for a few nights. I carry Treda just in case. The medication does work. It's part of the adventure.

Medical Medium Healing Essential Medical Medium Heavy Metal Detox Smoothie Medical Medium Heavy Metal Detox Smoothie We are all exposed to toxic heavy metals today. Many people also come into this world with toxic heavy metals such as mercury they inherited through their family line. Toxic heavy metals can cause or contribute to countless health symptoms and conditions. Enjoy this delicious smoothie daily to help safely and effectively remove heavy metals out of your brain and body. Ingredients: 2 cups of frozen wild blueberries 1 cup cilantro 1 tsp spirulina 1 tsp barley grass juice powder 1 tbsp Atlantic dulse 2 bananas 1 orange 1 cup water (optional) Directions: Combine the bananas, blueberries, cilantro, barley grass juice powder, spirulina, and dulse with the juice of one orange in a high-speed blender and blend until smooth. Add up to 1 cup of water if a thinner consistency is desired. Serve and enjoy! Wild blueberries: Draw heavy metals out of your brain tissue, healing and repairing any gaps created by oxidation when the heavy metals are removed. The potent antioxidants in wild blueberries help reverse any oxidative damage left behind by the heavy metal removal. I think even if you add cilantro and any of these ingredients into your smoothie it will help with detoxing. Also, Coconut Willie (my nephew) was healed by fresh coconut water straight from the coconut 🥥 another reason his nickname is that. He had a parasite that nothing medical could rid except the coconut water eventually rid it! Pretty amazing story. Aloha from Maui 🌺

It happens in all countries. Like in The United States, there's a lot of lettuce recalls or ecoli on meat or 7-Eleven nacho cheese people have died from. In Mexico, you get sick like this good girl and you go to the town's pharmacy where there's a doctor usually, you pay a few dollars to see him/her they give you pills/medicine and you're all set. Very cheap health services. That's why many Americans cross the border into Mexico to buy drugs cheaper, especially senior citizens. Stay safe and recommend Cabo or San Felipe, California, Mexico.
