Burnout / depression … it hit me suddenly when I was young, in BKK. Thai people got me through it in some weeks time. Looking back, it all changed positively when I did learn Thai language . Opened up to have Thai friends. And did not go where “normal” Thai people would not go. So no more Hard Rock Café, Erawan Hotel gym or lunch at the Dusit Thani. And slow down on alcohol, late nights, bench watching movies - whatever regular Thai people don’t do. And live in a house in a Thai area.

Live in a Thai area where they don't give a shit about anybody else! Noise, parties, Karaoke , chickens, cooking smells, fish, loud bikes and generally tossing garbage about the place! * I have for 30 years and best is to be as tolerant as possible! They certainly don't give a Fig!

First thing I'll do if I move to Thailand is take language courses. You are so so right bro.

The travels journey and burnout is definitely real! I experienced it while jumping around to too many countries in a span of 4 weeks. Landed in Vietnam and surrounded myself with friends from the states living in VN. Definitely helped make it feel like I was "home again" and I put a lot of vlogging on the back burner. Definitely realize that we need to slowmad and just stay in a place for longer periods of time to avoid that crazy burnout! Have fun back in BKK, cheers!

Kaja! Great to see that you are back in BKK! I acrually got in touch with you and your videos when you posted your blogs in Thailand some years ago - and then I followed your excursions wherever they took you - and sort of lost you at some point... So good that you are back - hope life treats you well and you recover soon from all what lies behind you. All the best from Bonn, Germany, and I look forward to hearing and reading from you. So good. Cheers, Oliver

Do slow travel, it helps. Just think of all the fresh, nutritious, cheap food that u have access too. Some others countries it is devoid of quality and nutrients and u pay a lot more. 😮

I've often wondered if people who lived this kind of lifestyle are often depressed and/or neurotic. I don't think we thrive best when we're moving around all the time.
@glengamble52610 ай бұрын
Really? So we thrive best when we are sedimentary, with no new experiences and stimuli? Just the same routine every day until we die? Can’t say I agree…

Defiently not a depressing lifestyle to live. But if you're constantly moving, it can feel kind of exhausting. Its important to rest once in a while, especially if ur a travel blogger.
@sumeetghai88678 ай бұрын
Well not really. They just have a diff approach to life. Yes they do sacrifice a lot on many things that seems important for us like buting a swanky car a house expensive mobile phone and what's not. But then the experiences they are gathering are priceless. Yeah this might not look sudtainable as u need constant cash flow and lot of energy and time figuring out too many things at time but then thats there way of living and wemust respect that
