Fun fact, as beastly and intimidating Nils might look when behind the drums, he used to be a personal assistant helping elderly and disabled and has said on tv he loved helping people and that it was the best job he could think of save from drumming wich is his biggest passion. There seems to be a very kind guy behind all that beastmode and black metal, contrary to what many people might judge him for on first glance.

Antioch And the first time he heard Black Metal he was impressed by the speed and the techniques and during the interview he said that he wanted to learn this as well. Yes, he seems to be a very nice, humble guy with a big heart.

Not really. He made a lot of mistakes, such as playing too fast (had to hold his horses for a split second to get into sync with the rest of the band), making strange breaks between the snare beat and filler chords, showing the drumstick right into the side of the tom tom drum etc. All though he is a good drummer and doing a fantastic job on other occasions! Beside anyone noticed he uses a mirrored drum set up? I find that kinda amusement as I use to do that myself back in the schooldays and everyone was like; "you can't have you drums like that, it's not the correct way..."

@@SuburbAllied Dave Lombardo actually is a lefty that plays a right-handed set-up. So, it can be done. As for Nils, he was playing for Dark Funeral, a black metal band that plays at 230+ bpm. That's the job. Those "breaks" were 16th-note double-bass fills. This video didn't capture the mix well.
