The 19th June has been declared Sickle Cell Awareness day. To mark the occasion the Watford African Caribbean Association Sickle Cell and Thalassaemia Support is organised a virtual Zoom meeting. This provided an opportunity for participants to explore current issue, share knowledge and experiences and raise awareness of this important issue.
We were joined by John James (CEO of the Sickle Cell Society); Dr Carl Reynolds(medical advisor on Sickle Cell Inequalities in NHS healthcare at the NHS Race and Health Observatory) Asiawu Iman (Sickle Cell Nurse for adults at Watford General). We extend our thanks to them for their contribution and to all those who participated.
Initial feedback from participants indicate that the session was informative and helpful. If you were unable to make it. the recording is here.
