I had a JD 37 that I first cut with, then a haybine. With conditioner rollers I thought that was a big improvement- until I got my JD 920 discbine! Old equipment tends to make you appreciate the new stuff!! Makes you appreciate the Krone!

That mower was cutting nice! In tall grass a swath board is a necessity. Take care!

Hope you're up and running again. We used to run a bunch of cattle on Johnson grass. We never had big issues. Never after a small freeze on new growth. Nice video. Keep safe.

Remember when l broke the swath board l made mine out of an oak board. Probably 50 years still working today. Also thought a metal might better because of weight

Well, I agree with you on the Johnson Grass, at the right stage you can feed it to the cows and even horses. Back in the late 90's we had horses that we would turn into the bottom field and there was a 4 foot round patch of Johnson Grass that they would go to first and eat down to the ground. They finally killed it, so I no longer have it in the bottom field, but everyone told me that it was poisonous, they sure liked it. Course it never headed out and that's what I was told, catch it before it heads out and it won't hurt them. Your Massey 50 and 32 are running real nice, sorry about the swath board. I still have a steel swatch from my old sickle cutter and that was 25 years ago.You know it's still hanging in the shed, like new, maybe I'll put it to use some day. Well, thanks for the video, hope you have a great week.

Your tractor and mower were working pretty good before the swathboard broke. When I used to use a sickle mower, I learned how important the swathboard it, especially in tall or thick hay. Hope you get it fixed soon.

We started out with used hay equiptment fixed it up and got it working. And We over time replaced that equiptment with much better used replacemen implements . However we kept all the old implements. And if something breaks down. We just go get our older one and continue finishing the job. I know a guy bought a new round bailer and kept his old bailer. And he continued to use the old bailer. And if the old bailer broke down, He then would use the brand new one.

Our neighbor used to drag a burlap bag behind his tractor to keep the pto from wrapping with hay.

You could use some sheet metal and bend it into a “U” shape, and bolt it over the top of both pieces to get it to work until you replace

I use a piece of corrugated pipe slipped over the complete shaft. (as close to tractor and as far back as to cover the u joint yokes on mower) I have a model 31 and it does the same thing if i don't cover the shaft.

It's frustrating when such a simple breakdown can shut you down.
