Sid Caesar, Imogene Coca, Buddy Rich on "The Hollywood Palace" - Theatre Sketch

[From "Kovacs Corner" on KZbin.com] - Reunited on the stage of The Hollywood Palace, Sid and Imogene play a pair of theater goers who are unfortunately seated next to the orchestra's drummer. He also happens to be drum legend Buddy Rich!

This is a redo of a sketch originally shown on "Your Show Of Shows" back in the early '50's. The drummer was Jackie Cooper, and he was very good as well as funny. This repeat follows the original closely.

At 3:40 in the video and exchange begins that ends with a great deadpan from buddy. Imogene has the next line and inadvertently hits the cymbal . She then improvises a line. ..it’s not in the original sketch which you can see elsewhere on KZbin.. and scores big. She was a bad ass!

3:48 when she asks about if drummers "read music" - the look on his face is priceless -- he hated when people asked him that. There is a sketch with him and Johnny Carson on the Tonight show ---very very funny.
