The "Guy with the hat" is Milan Fras, he's been the main voice of the band since the 80s. :) The hat is a traditional headgear worn by miners in the area.

I think miners in England that used this head gear.

Laibach one of my all time favourite groups. i found them by accident on late night british TV in the 1980's pre internet days so it took almost 10 years for me to find out their name and hear a full album

The band's name Laibach is the German name for Ljubiljana, the capital. It was forbidden in the early 80s and 70s in Yugoslavia. They chose the name in 1980 to provoke Tito. This reached a point where they were banned in their home-country but they still continued to give concerts.

Thanks man.

they were banned because they projected a porn movie mixed with Tito's speach in a concert. Considering the era they were lucky to avoid prison.

As a Siddharta fan I think it's important to say that they wrote this song, Laibach did a great cover, and this time they're on stage together. Of course, I want reactions to the music of Siddharta, the songs Ring, Ledena, Jaz, Meddrevesa..
@xsezz Жыл бұрын
Oh did they? I had no idea. Cool. I'll add them to the list. Thank you.

... don't be an idiot. The song was first recorded in 1968 by The Rolling Stones written by Mick Jagger. Members of Siddharta were not even alive then. Never heard Siddharta's cover. Both bands Siddharta and Laibach come from my country. Laibach has been on stage 45 years - Siddharta 20ish.

@@marioskraban4249 What? What you wrote is provocation or actually stupid.. What a Rolling Stones, the song is an original by Siddharta from the album Nord from 2001.

coming up in Slovenia when they did singing in german was a real ball-sy move. Rammstien has a fair amount in common with Libach both getting their start under a communist regime both quite political bands as well

It's an old coal mining hat. Laibach was formed in mining town of Trbovlje/SLO so he took something local.

Be careful. After 1987, Laibach start experimenting with everything, every album does not only have thematic, but also - genre. Jesus Christ Superstar have church motives, WAT - Neue Doiche Hurte, or Rammstein style, Spectre - synth, Let It be - tribute to Beatles (funny story, Across the Universe by Laibach is a cover, that sounds not familiar - like another song), Volk - based on hymns music, etc. This, as, sorry, political situation about Laibach (to understand, no one can correctly talk, which side are they) makes this group feels different.
@MLCrow6 ай бұрын
Laibach was also an influence for Rammstein btw.
@aleskaucic232611 күн бұрын
Not really. They apparently ask Rammstein to be their pre-band at some festival but they (Rammstein) promptly denied. But yeah, both bands are considered Nazi.

Laibach come from Velenje City, notorious by their coal mines. That "hat" is part of miner's equipment.

They're from Slovenia- which used to be Democratic Republic of Yugoslavia I believe
