23:2 1. Monster lick, so classic Lukather. Listen to that over and over. So many years of music stretch here. Bless Joe, he’s playing inside so perfectly. He let’s Steve take some outside runs. Perfect match

Joe just seems to find new talent, great guitar players, new ones too, that I never heard of. Thank you, Joe. My daughter Jill went to see your Greek Theater concert last Sat. night, full moon and all, tribute to the best. She said she threw you a kiss for me. Some day I'll get a chance .... I live in Australia, maybe over here. Keep it up, love you....Babala

At about the 17-19th minute the base player looked and sounded like Glen Hughes ... and indeed it was Glen Hughes !! What I among other things really enjoy about Joe B. is his ability to work with and play the music of the legends of the seventies. It gives him an extreme credibility ... credibility of musical quality - Shining On !!
@moskii-kb8un7 жыл бұрын
Once you've heard the Glenn Hughes scream, you never forget, I always think of Deep Purple's performance at Cal Jam, 1st time I Heard Glenn sing and scream..after awhile it got to Ritchie and the band was no more (that line up MK III ?)

That would be Mr. Elliot Easton, formerly of The Cars. He's long been a favorite of mine, as well, although, being a southpaw myself, I suppose I'm somewhat partial to others like myself. And regarding the SG - what can I say - SWEEEEEET!!!

In the 90's, I was a fan of Kenny Wayne Shepherd (still am), then years later I started playing blues guitar and saw JB play the Rock n Roll Hall of Fame for Freddie King and I was in awe...Since then I've heard many of his songs and I consider him THE STATUS QUO of not just Blues Guitar...but of the entire present guitar world...And, I agree...He's way beyond BB King, Robert Johnson, Muddy Waters, Buddy Guy...However, there's one blues guitarist that matches JB...Mr. Stevie Ray Vaughan.

Anyone that can hang with JB rocks or get embarrassed. Shit, my idols have all got to take a back seat to this guy, I would love to see him play with Tony Iommi, Alex Lifeson, and David Gilmour. He is on there level and then some. I saw him in Sacramento in the spring. I was blown away. From the front row. I got the tickets from a PBS fund raiser. I bet JB an Richie Blackmore would be cool.

Umm, he's actually Hubert Sumlin, Howlin' Wolf's guitarist. Read all of my comments before you make conclusions. You're right about not being a contest because they are not contesting right now, but this is part of the king of the blues contest. JB does show respect to all of his idols, but I'm not the only one who says that he always blows them of the stage, being way better than his legends ever were, let alone when they're 80 years old.

lol I like the irony of your line about embarrassment...Howlin' Dog wasn't known for his guitar playing...Hell I don't even remember a time where he played one (though it's not too far to think he has). lol Do you feel stupid now? And, JB is a legend in his own right and HUBERT SUMLIN (rock in peace brother) should feel just as honored as JB does to share the stage with such talent.
