I'm very bothered by the fact that the earliest episodes of Family Guy still look about 90% as 'good' as current episodes. Either the show had a really great start, or it just hasn't improved enough. Oh man the art in the original (while somewhat close to the original) has this simplicity to it and it's hard to ignore the way the characters are drawn in the original compared to the final product. The final product has structure to it, the proportions seem a lot more definite compared to the art and animation of the original. I'm personally glad how much more cleaner the art looks.

I'd say that they make characters look more marketable by cleaning up designs. yeah. the first couple seasons of family guy are refreshing to watch after watching a disgustingly stiff episode from the past couple years. also the show itself was more sincere and there were like, actual jokes that were a little inappropriate, but funny, but now the jokes are just. based entirely upon the fact that it's offensive, that it being offensive makes it funny in itself. if that makes any sense

Not to quickly though, for at least the first three seasons Meg was just a bullied teen girl who got embarrassed by her family from time to time. A lot of times you'll here Lois and even Peter show lovingness and care towards her in season two especially.
