If you're a fan of Whitney Houston - this movie is an unmissable theatrical EXPERIENCE. Especially if you never got to see her live in concert - you're going to rejoice this as a CELEBRATION of her music and talent.

I understand this now! Hearing her voice in theatre is the primary goal it seems. How did you feel about the actress during this part thojgh? Do you feel she delivered the way Whitney did? Were you connected to her? Or wes it more about hearing Whitney in a theatre?

In MG opinion this Movie was unnecessary and a waste of effort. The Estate are using Whitney's Legacy as a cheap money grab. Her Image,Sound and Spirit will always have presence and hierarchy over all that's undeniable. But if they cared enough they could have all the footage of her remastered and could throw us enough to keep us as the fans satisfied all while upholding her legacy without making it feel like a cheap thrill. That actress does not embody witney, you take away the big production of the replica costumes and hair and she do not remotely make you think of Whitney and honestly deep in my soul it doesn't sit well with me to have this person come along a pretend to be this amazing individual that is unmatched in existence. Just maybe now to thoes that felt they needed that,it's done and maybe it will be the end of this trend of Whitney Houston so called Biopics and the Record label and Estate will just drop gems from the archives so we can remember the Beautiful,Phenomenal and Talented Woman for the Legend She Is.

Her voice was perfect on the album and live performances but not ready for tour. If she had of stayed home and rested or just focused on acting while recording her next album then by 2015 her voice would have been back 100%

Not perfect, but it was so well done. I truly enjoyed it and left the theater loving whitney even more. It did Whitney's life justice I feel. No subliminal messages bout her lesbian relationship----it just showed us how it was. And even though I don't like Bobby, I feel like they did the right thing to include the tiny final part between him and her. I liked the movie, i did.

Nope she doesn't and if she truly cared about uplifting her legacy she would have released concert footage, unreleased music or even taken a leaf out of MJ or even Prince's estates. There was a song called "Cool Breeze" that Whitney recorded with Tweet that should have been on Tweet's second album back in 2005. There's a sample floating around on the net. The blended tone of their voices together was just INCREDIBLE to the point of ridiculous. They still haven't released the full Luther Vandross concert back in the early 80's where Whitney was the supporting act that fans still haven't seen that was shown on the documentary. Prince's estate has released so much music and albums, us fans are spoilt for choice. Now they have a Prince shop in Minneapolis airport where they have sheets of his music on display. Why hasn't the same been done for Whitney? Candles, makeup, hologram tour and now this movie.....come on!!!! Whitney was so much more than that!

Sorry!!! Even though it was hard to find an actor to play Elvis, the actor captured him throughout the movie AND during his concerts. They could have done better for Whitney. Putting a black girl in a wig to lipsync and mimic her moves is lazy, especially, if she doesn't have the same lines as her or the motivation for her actions are just copied but not played from the heart. They should have waited until they found someone to do a brilliant job not just an okay one. Ray played by Jamie Foxx was another example of brilliance. Also, even though it didnt involve singing so was Denzel's performance as Malcolm X. I would even say Angela played Tina well, but as far as Whitney goes - it is still in my opinion not good enough. It just goes to show you that the people around her weren't really paying attention to the subtleties that made her great!!! They only heard the voice, they didn't know why she moved the way she did so they couldnt direct the actress properly. This is the same mistake that they make with the Michael Jackson bios. They get the young Michael right, but they make the older one look like a dancing ghost-like character who is always complaining or looking disheveled. Thousands capture his dance moves, but you never see what was going on authentically in his head. Only a brillaint actor could capture that and recreate it if those closest to him were really paying attention. Just leave it alone. I'd rather watch the authentic live shows on You Tube or her videos, because the unanswered questions either come from the books or the documentaries but not these bios.

Kasi Lemmons is great but I think they have her a lemon In the writing. I don’t know-maybe being there during Whitney’s start to finish, seeing her beauty, talent in real time makes it Just difficult to accept mediocracy.
