Is it too much ? Or is it more than they want to give ? 🤔 People really try to make you feel bad when they feel guilty for not being able to match what you give

I think that sometimes being “too much” for many people means that they are experiencing another individual do, say or behave in a way that feels uncomfortable to them. Behavior that often feels obnoxious, loud, overly opinionated, intrusive, inconsiderate, loud and wrong or just down right rude. You can also be too much to others when you’re seen as too rigid with your ideologies and principles.

A lot of people are considered too much just for being open depictions of authenticity. The honesty, confidence, rawness of you feels like a personal attack on people who are quite comfortable with fakeness. Don’t water yourself down, just keep celebrating who you are and try to find YOUR people. Spoken as someone taking their own advice.

It is your boldness, openness, rawness... how could you not be.... it is our island thing. You grew up with a Grenadian mom so we are raw, bold, outspoken. Who don't like it, well sorry for them. This is who she is

In my observation and personal experience in theater, I've noticed that the concept of being 'too much' appears to be more rooted in Western cultures. When I moved from Curaçao to the Netherlands, I encountered, and continue to encounter, individuals who try to limit one's freedom of expression. I've found that Caribbean cultures, in the places I've experienced, are much more embracing of expressive behavior. They embrace diversity, whether it's through a loud voice or animated body language, considering it a natural aspect of life. Of course, this is just my subjective perspective based on my personal experiences.

@@lalat5899 I hope you find like-minded people or a supportive group of friends who accept you. And if not right now, just keep expressing yourself according to your true nature. Those who can't vibe with your authentic energy simply aren't worth your time.

You are correct. Also we are outspoken. We are raw. We tell it like it is, so you better have a back bone. Nothing like us Caribbean people. We are a force to be recon with.

i once had a friend call me intense and it threw me off because i know for sure I'm not an intense person. i don't typically center myself enough to be intense. but then i realised it's easy to claim someones intense when you move through this life apathetic.

So sorry you felt that someone saying you're too happy doesn't just SUCK its fuckedUP! Learning NOT to internalize other's shit is a platinum skill to know and practice. your questions: can you...IS ABOUT INTEGRITY. It's also a pet peeve of mine when folk say but don't DO what they SAID. I love your energy; your creativity is off the charts! DO UUUUUUUUUUUUU! Always✊🏽

I’m a fan of yours and I really enjoyed smart funny and black (I went for my birthday a few years back)❤. I was talking to my sister and I can’t understand why people say you do too much. I think you do the perfect amount of enough. You put in great effort to speak about important things you’re passionate about and I have to admire that. Thank you for being unapologetically black and proud. You are loved 🥰
