For mid-match strength like this you really need to slowly load before hitting. Going from basically loose to hitting is worse. That's why with 62.5 kg the second effort was better than the first; you were already loaded from the hit and then when you went again your connection was better.

looking at your cable apparatus and how you are pulling off the table to train for side pressure. Shouldn't the apparatus be on the side your apponents hand peg is on. Also do you think it would be beneficial to have two cable apparatuses one adjacent to you where your apponent stands and one where his hand peg is. In that way the apposing forces will be like an apponent applying back pressure and side pressure all ways? What are your thoughts? Also do you have a video with close ups of your cable apparatus? Went to mine and mill today and bought some steel. I am going to fabricate a system similar to yours.

What differences do you feel doing your lifts with the krasi apparatus vs your old cable machine
@ryanbluebowen4 жыл бұрын
I really genuinely love the Krasi Aparratus. The best thing is it's smooth and the pivot point is close to the table, so it allows for much more accurate replication of an armwrestling feel.
@riquelme1874 жыл бұрын
I know this is a crazy request but is there any way you can replicate this movement using resistance bands? They are all I have I have no gym and I don't have that machine I just have an arm wrestling table and 5 different strengths of resistance bands .
@96816bassmeistha4 жыл бұрын
easy to replicate this with bands, just tie it around something same level as your hand would be while on table, and start pulling. start slow if you not used to training side pressure though.

Ryan, you have your hand sideways (palm facing you as in a hook) and your forearm is only a few degrees above the table. While hooks do happen no one has their forearm almost parallel to the table at the beginning of the match nor do they start in a hook. I would think that you would want to mimic the path and hand position of a match as closely as possible in the lift to best benefit your arm wrestling. If you review the video to see the path (flat) your hand and forearm takes from start to finish of the lift it would be anatomically impossible to do that in a match. Enjoyed the vid though, as always. Ps. I think that if you had the cable higher (as you did in the old equipment) it would force you to do a more standard arm-wrestling vector in the lift.
@danielvivas64934 жыл бұрын
Well done Ryan. You need a WAL poster of yourself in the wall, behind the table, to motivate you. I would also look fantastic in the video!!👌👌💪💪

If you are new to armwrestling and see this video. Take a step back and do not try to even go beyond 60% of your max on this exercise. You need to build tendon, ligament and bone strength first. Take it from someone who has torn both the forearm tendon and the tricep tendon, and to top it all off broke my elbow in half 9 years ago. All from armwrestling.
@richardgamrat19444 жыл бұрын
What training would you advise for begineer then? How I build better tendons etc.?
@jarzez4 жыл бұрын
@@richardgamrat1944 I just advice you to go to an armwrestling club near you so they can teach you how to do it correctly. Do not worry about strength for at least the first 6 months, it's guaranteed your technique that needs improvement first of all.

Ive always wondered why arm wrestler's don't do a more full body/cardio workout approach. I can understand the need to focus on certain body parts and movements, but the benefits of taking a more holistic approach seem obvious to a novice like me. You see guys gassing out, no cardio. You see guys using their back and legs (pushing off the table), yet soo many competitors have chicken legs. Even a strong core would be a massive benefit. Yoga, to get those connective tissues healthy. Any reason why guys don't do more full body strength work and a bit more cardio? Btw - keep sane during this virus lockdown mate 😉 . Do you play video games by any chance?
@AW-Luke4 жыл бұрын

Mike G vector is a mathematical term describing something with direction and magnitude. In the sense he’s using it, he means the direction of the force he is applying when he lifts the weight. So in this video, the force vector he is applying is towards the bottom right of the screen. Hope that helps!
