"You're always building and evolving."...I like to play...it is just a game...LOL. I know life is short, so I try not to take any of this too seriously, just have fun. Thanks for Watching. Scott

I just found your channel today and have been binging your videos. Great videos! I wonder if there is a version eleven that lives somewhere between version ten and version seven. I’ll definitely be coming back for updates on your experiments.

So for the slow response, yes there is a version eleven, but at the moment I have put these experiments on hold, this has been a crazy busy spring for me and not much time to play

Scotty what is the reason for having the Bees travel so far to get back to the brood box . The reason I ask Chris is the one that told me about your channel. He was showing the side stacker of yours an I fell in love with that design. I think on your number of designs it was or close to #7. I was just wondering why you do not have the bees coming in on the long side under the brood box just like a regular hive . Not unless it’s to get the bees that are interning away from you . The hive he was showing was the one with the queen excluder standing up between the brood an the super . I thought that one should work very well 🤷♂️🤷♂️🤷♂️. Thanks

"Not unless it’s to get the bees that are interning away from you "...To keep them away from me but more important is to keep me away from them...LOL " The hive he was showing was the one with the queen excluder standing up between the brood an the super"..Yes that is like the one I called version seven, which I plan to retry this year. "I thought that one should work very well "...I think it could work, but from me last year it swarmed and the virgin queen (newly mated) got through the excluder
@kathyhathaway882310 ай бұрын
Ya with her getting past the excluder for sure causes a problem. After I finish up my new building I am going to try to make that style. BUT with a little change . I run all eight frames but I am going to make this one with a ten frame brood an a eight frame super side by side .🤞🤞🤞

@@kathyhathaway8823 "I run all eight frames but I am going to make this one with a ten frame brood an a eight frame super side by side"...That would be lighter, and I think that would work fine, on the honey side you can stack the supers up as much as needed.

So... which colonies are you targeting for transfer?

So, you'll have three total #10 side stackers? Have yo decided which colonies you'll transfer into them?

I currently have 2 Version 10 and 2 Version 11, to early to open hives here at the moment..still have some cold weather to get past but it will be some of my stronger hives for sure. Next couple of weeks day time highs around the freezing point and night temp down to -4 to -7C.

@BeekeepinginNorthernOntario great! I'm excited to see how they turn out. We're finally getting a brief reprieve from winter. Rain free for maybe a week? Warmish days but lows at night near freezing.
