Side Sword Sparring - Peter VS Harrison

I've never seen someone just let their off hand flop around while fencing. Is this from a particular system or just personal preference? Great fencing from the both of you!

ive seen a few people do it. I'd guess it might be to keep the hand available to grab the sword if they get a chance but to still keep it kinda out of the way
