I remember the first time i saw him in person. It was the Pinatubo eruption time in 1991. He came in to my Mom’s PLDT Office(franchise) to make a call. He was in our town, San Narciso, Zambales. His Arab feature was his marked feature to me. I knew who he was at once he came in & asked to make a call. He was quiet, serious, focused, a bit rushing, a bit bowed down. He was not a snob…only quiet & humble looking. The next day or 2, i saw him reporting like that of Mr. Noli de Castro. My impression was he was starting to be a reliever of major position in news reporting…as news anchor maybe. I remember being happy for his career. I didnt have any idea how a news network does things, anyway. Now, i see him here semi retiring. Wow! Congratulations Sir Henry Omaga-Diaz!!..for a job well done!👍🏻🎉 How time flew fast. I was 22 yrs old in 1991, & now i see you on youtube looking Grandpa na talaga, all matured & wiser. Im in my 50’s npo now. I wish you well in Canada with your family. God bless & more power! I hate change, esp. when people I like and admire leave for whatever reason. These five years alone have been one change after another, with the pandemic, the ABS CBN shutdown and my fave shows gone so quickly, DZMM became just Teleradyo, then Manong Ted, Ka Tunying, Ka Gerry and Pabu Julius left, then Kabayan left but, thankfully, returned, then Teleradyo became Teleradyo Serbisyo, then Manong Henry left. I know that change is the only constant in life, that everyone leaves, one way or another, but the child inside me can't accept it. I can only say thank you and God bless, Manong Henry. 🙏

Naiyak ako. For some reason, totoo pala yung sinasabi ng mga hosts and artista na "they become part of our everyday." I tune in and watch the news whenever I can, and Mr. Henry Omaga-Diaz would be on together with Kabayan Noli and Bernadette. Parang wala lang because andyan sila palagi. But now that Mr Henry is leaving, parang mami-miss mo din marinig ang boses nya. Narealize ko, aba totoo pala. The people you watch almost everyday seems to have become part of your family too. Best of luck po, Sir Henry. It's a tough decision to leave, but you made a decision to be with your family. Ang prayer ko po, sana huwag kayong dapuan ng lungkot doon.
