I really enjoy you and your wife’s vlogs . I am from the USA . I am a steelworker now , but I grew up on a dairy farm in the early 1980’s , my farm sold out in 1984 and retired and sold the farm . This broke my heart . I was the oldest son of 7 children and I wanted to keep the farm going , but I couldn’t afford to buy everyone out . I really do enjoy your vlogs , you and your wife are very informative , you have a beautiful farm , very clean and neat , your animals are well taken care of , your equipment is well taken care of . Keep up the good work , your both very informative and I really hope the trade deal gets taken care of so you farmers can be paid for your hard work ! I know the sacrifices that farmers go through to put food on our table .

All those tires on the ground, it’s a wonder you don’t run over more corn. Not much room for error. Great videos

Cool to see someone else in Ontario running an Aulari similar to how we do. From Essex County area. We have a second set of mounting brackets on the toolbar so we don’t have to move them for side dressing. Know how much of a job that can be. Really like your content. Nice to see someone close to us making it.

Thanks, I'm thinking about doing the same thing as it's pretty labour intensive to switch them around.

Mark Brock yeah definitely is. Still find we have to fine tune it to get the placement we want but much easier

Gotta keep it fun for yourself, but you've also got an opportunity to educate those who don't live on farms or small towns and have no idea where their food comes from. Keep it up! @@MarkBrock

Love your channel, big fan of your wife’s as well:) Two question’s, are you going to have any more tile video and what made you go with side dressing a dry product vs liquid?
@MarkBrock5 жыл бұрын
Hopefully this summer after the wheat is harvested there will be a tiling video. As for dry vs. liquid, we want to consolidate some equipment and try to gain some efficiencies. We're now able to use one piece for both planting and sidedressing so that's the main reason for dry fertilizer.

I like the put my fertilizer on before planting. Air Flow spreader by the Coop. They got GPS to steer by, so good to use them. Use AMS too, 20 pounds per acre, with 140 actual N applied. + potash & P. A total amount of around 500 # per acre. So how much of these do you apply. I watch Sandy"s video / sheep & one of harvest, but maybe on the 2nd one of your Mark.

At planting 28 lb N, 28 lb P, 28 lb K and a bit of sulfur and zinc. 148lb per acre of product. Then we sidedress Amidas 120 N, 16 lb S at 300lb per acre.

So how did you like your new bin dryer this Fall. Better than a continuous stand alone unit? I got a bin dryer with the 2 tapered augers on the floor. Like Soukup made, call David MFD, they bought David out. Works good, 24ft bin. Corn was high moisture 28% or down to 23%. So not fun drying corn this fall. I had problems with a old take away grain auger at the drying bin. Considering replacing it, for new year, but we'll see. Need a new bearing or 2 on the top drive shaft, & a little reinforce welding, to possible make it fool proof, but do you trust it????

Really like the new dryer setup. I find it's pretty fool proof for the first couple of year then it start to have issue pop up, nothing major just small stuff like sensors.

Very nice footage of side-dressing , where you trying to get closer to row , rather then center ?
@MarkBrock5 жыл бұрын
Try to stay in the center row but the applicator does wander a bit back and forth.

Can you put water into your spreader to soak the pellets?
@klugfarmsklug93235 жыл бұрын
AMS nitrogen is made with sulfur already in it. Like 20# of sulfur per 100 #.
