​@@will5723 so before each round, everyone closes their eyes, mafia choose someone they want to kill, doctor choose someone they want to save (if the person they choose was chosen by mafia then the person will no die), police can select someone and ask the narrator if they're civ or maf, only the narrator will know who chooses who, then the game starts. Either someone will get killed or saved by doctor.

@@will5723 Basically, in traditional Mafia where there's more people, everyone closes their eyes, and the mafia decide on who to kill. Usually, you have someone running the game to confirm kills and basically tell everyone what happened while they went to "sleep." A lot of people play a version where on the civilian side, there's a medic who can save people from being killed, and a cop who can investigate and figure out who the mafia is while everyone else's eyes are closed, so the game is a bit more balanced in favor of the civilians. Among Us, One Night Ultimate Werewolf, and to a small extent Secret Hitler, are all basically just altered versions of Mafia with their own spin on it, since they're all part of the social deduction genre of games. You can watch any video with those in the title and you'll basically get used to some of the mechanics, though I haven't seen how Beta Squad played Mafia back in the day.

You guys should do this the full way. After every vote, everyone ‘goes to sleep’ aka closes their eyes and a host asks the mafia to open their eyes, then the mafia silently points at someone to murder that night. You can then include more roles like have a doctor choose someone to try and save and even include things like a jester if you’d like. It can also be fun as the host to say shit like ‘Okay, everyone wake up, JJ was strangled to death using his own bandana last night’ 💀

They should actually play mafia with a detective, doctor, and mafia (who kills someone at night). Each round there is a night period where everyone closes their eyes, and then the narrator tells the mafia to point to someone, the detective picks someone to investigate, where the narrator tells them if they are mafia or not, and a doc who picks someone to save. After night is over everyone wakes up and the narrator tells them who was killed and then they can discuss and vote someone out.

This isn’t how mafia is played… boys go play town of Salem. That’s basically mafia but more roles. There’s supposed to be a “game master” that tells everyone to “go to sleep” and then the mafia “wakes up” by themselves and silently points at someone to kill. Then goes back to sleep. Then a doctor wakes up and gets to silently point at someone to save. Sheriff gets to investigate someone silently. Then the game master tells everyone to “wake up” and then you see what happened and then decide who to vote out. Rinse and repeat until the game is over. More people = add another mafia
