It's annoying when the Sidemen barely say anything and just do basic reactions like "jeez" or "what?". At that point I'd rather just watch the video by itself. I like it when they actually have something to say and they have to pause it to have a conversation, but I get that not every video they react to is gonna create that type of discussion.

I think the counting tables were necessary because back then, the numbers system weren't established yet. They knew an amount for what it is, which is an amount. The beads, based on their position, represent an amount of something. But now an amount can be easily represented by numbers. If you didn't have numbers, counting or calculating large values would probably be extremely hard because you're only working with amounts, not knowing what it looks like. So the beads made it easier because they represent the amounts. Just like how a number goes up with value, the beads on a counting tablet shift according to its value. The beads also have an advantage of being universally understood, whereas numbers could be represented differently in different languages.

the video about santur you saw was from Iran. children still learn this musical instrument. I have a friend who plays santur. we mainly hear santur music in classical music. it has a really calming sound and you usually don't get bored of listening to it. that traditional calculator still exists in Iran and it is used to store the numbers in an easier way, so your concentration goes fully on calculating. I think you should do a sidemen video about that mathematical board.

Its an ancient weapon called urumi which is just like a sword, but flexible, and is used only by those martial artists who train with it(that art form is called kalaripayattu which is the oldest martial arts in the world) and also common people might never even have seen it in person, or they have them at their home to use as belt. Honestly the Abacus might become my new favorite object of all time because it's always so funny to me how much everyone is willing to stare at something and just say how is that possible how is a normal human being doing that thing with that machine the correct way not as if you should be made fun of for not knowing how to do everything ever but in the sense that every topic ever is technically just a language you haven't learned yet people see their grandkids turn on a computer and think they're a master at using them the same way for random guys can watch someone use an abacus and not know what the hell it means the same way that someone who knows how to build a car doesn't know how to build a computer it's all just information of a controller we haven't learned how to use yet and just like how we use so many words to describe more than one thing because they can be used in different contexts the only reason you don't know how to use this controllers because you haven't learned how to speak its language and I just think it's so incredibly ironic because of how many things this applies to

In Australia I live in the red dust heat (middle of no where at the time) but there is an old abandoned ice factory in the Main Street of town. Only a few places were allowed allowed to run off the towns generators and they cooled the rooms by electricity or the open picture theatres and stuff like that.
