This is a wonderful tour. The two of you make a great team exploring and memorializing the souls in these cemeteries. The stone mason in this area created works of art. The children's memorials are always so touching. My brother who was stillborn (1942) was buried in a long line of other infants, many from the same family, not ours. From the internet I found "In cemeteries throughout the west, Dum Tacet Clamat [Though silent, he speaks.] is written on hand-carved gravestones paid for by an insurance company called the Woodmen of the World. In an era where people had no other form of insurance, they made sure that their ultimate resting place would have an appropriate marker."

Great job guys. Thank you for braving the heat for us. The prefix nee on a tombstone derives from the French "naitre" and means to be born. It indicates the birth name of a woman who has taken her husband's name after marriage. If you visit a churchyard in Scotland you'll find that most women are buried under their maiden name. Enjoyed this trip with ya'll as always.

There was that scene right at the beginning with the daughter and mother next to each other who passed away just a few months apart. This happened to my grandfather and to his life partner, and they spent most of their lives together. I'm not sure if my grandfather ever loved my grandmother, they were not together since the 80s, but he did love his partner after that, and treated her grandchildren as his own, and I do believe that his partner looked at me as a grandchild in a way. She passed away in August last year from heart related issues and my grandfather passed away from lung related issues in February this year. On my grandfather's funeral we met many people I didn't know and one woman after saying sorry to my father said "He couldn't live without her." I believe it was true. They were both cremated and they are buried next to each other.

At 5:54, those hyphens are breaks between thoughts. They could be replaced with commas and periods. It reads "She was, but words are wanting to say what. Think what a wife, mother and Christian should be, and she was that." I have photographed a slightly altered version of that on a gravestone up here. Ours refers to a man and says "He was. Words are wanting to say what. Think what a man should be. He was that." It's one of my favorite epitaphs. "Jno", I believe, is the abbreviation for Jonathon. 26:30- It was common before the 20th century to lose a lot of children. My grandmother was the second to the last child in her family, of 12 total, and she was born 1904. Out of the 12, three died as children, and two of those before their first birthday. 42:08- Nee means maiden name. I love that Rosedale Cemetery. That was very interesting to see.

@@sharrontaylor4744 So the heavy TRAFFIC could explain those stones creeping over due to vibrations from Large Loads frequently passing by in such close proximity!!! There’s a little community south of bardstown called Balltown as I was told by my mother, it’s a bad area. Not safe. But, I think it was due to crime of some type. But, I’ve heeded her warning and stayed away. Some of the other names mentioned in this video, are in the areas I just named such as Martin. I went to school with some Martin. They was MEAN! One was wild and ended up accidentally killing himself when he just flat gunned the gas pedal and drunk and ended up in a river upside down and died. A memorial is by the bridge today.
