it would be very helpful to include a chart to every characters weak side, the iconic one being mishimas weak to SSL, but what about the other characters?

I think this in kinda good to look for yourself,some characters are a mixed bag,they have a lot of attacks that tracks to one side and a lot that tracks to the other. The ideia is generally lab the tracking of the character,and act based on which moves your opponent will use,sometimes the character is recommended to go to the right,but the player do a lot of moves that track to that side but no to the left. Mishima is really iconic because outside of homing moves they really don't have moves that tracks to the left,or is a very bad move anyway.

In the video they literally tell you to lab what you can sidestep lol….ya be wanting hands out so bad put some time and effort into practice mode

If you google "Tekken 8 Side Step Chart" there's a remade one on Reddit that you can find. Lists SSL and SSR (side step left/right) preference for each character. Hope this gives you a starting point at least.

So you can make your sidestep safe by blocking immediately after. Still have to let the sidestep come out back but as long as you block within a few frames you should be alright.

I tried applying this to my games during tekken 7, but it was very hard. For example, i ran into a jin player who loved to throw out ff2 in the neutral in order to get the knockdown for pressure. It would be the only thing he does. I tried to time my sidestep, but i could never pull it off during the 4 to 5 matches i had with him. I kept eating it everytime i attempted to move. Another time, i met a hwoarang player who did the same thing except he did it with ff4. The same thing happened. I won them both in the end but they felt hollow because of that.

Learning when to sidestep comes with time. And you just have to lab what's stepable

Yes it does matter. Certain moves track certain ways. So it's important to lab what you can step and which side.

i = impact So 5 frames

+ and minus frames if both chars do a 10 frame move they both hit, if you do a move that gives + frames, for example +3 you can do a 12 frame move and it will hit if the enemy does a 10 frame move, 13 frame move will trade with a 10 frame move if you are +3 if you are -1 and you do a jab ( 10 frame) and the enemt does a 10 frame you lose
