I went out today, along the South Downs, no big hills and only managed just over 5 miles. I will be 70 this year, and that's my excuse. Nice walk though, sunny and not too cold.

I am trying to burn off 30lbs....and funny enough, the two days I work, I walk between 10 and 11 miles every day, so good exercise at work. I have been going to the gym 5 times a week and swimming afterwards, since mid December and so far, knocked off 5lbs but still over 16 stone, which is way too heavy for me. You are so right about the eating of rubbish over Christmas, in a way, it's good to get back to normal. Looked like you got a canny day for it, although I hate walking in mud and a canny pull up those steps mind. That was a climb up off the pebble beach mind but dam good exercise and a canny pace, especially when you know you have a roast waiting at home yum! I like the little tracker, showing your route and nice one on catching the 15.00 bus, cheers Alan

I did this walk yesterday and it's crazy the difference of how the section looks in different seasons and weather. The part our of Branscombe where you looked at the vile Hill but went through thr campsite. I did the campsite way but if I could do it again I'd just go right up over the top. I was walking with a 7 year old though and some of the paths on that little section were abit hairy.

A great walk and good to see you back out on the SWCP. Looking forward to seeing the next episode. Unfortunately, I didn't put any weight on over Christmas / New Year. I say "unfortunately" because I managed to get one of those 24 / 48 hours bugs that completely wiped me out on Boxing Day and the following day wasn't much better. Lost count of the number of times I counted the wall and floor tiles in the toilet!!!!! Lost about 7 lbs in 2 days. Hey Ho.

Brillant Trev loved watcing this SWCP section really nostalgic!!! Your graident map he he you managed to miss the epic stair case by taking the underciff trail route though the carvan park and that looked epic seeing the cliffs towering above, I missed that section and went high was a killer!!!! Next top the jurassic jungle from seaton on wards.....And heads up for when you do the Lyme Regis section check the tide times as can walk along the beach from lyme to charmouth saves a massive up hill road walk and back around. Cheers Trev
@SummitOrNothing4 жыл бұрын
Cheers Jodz! The gradient map was from the SWCP website, so they must recommend the scenic lower route, which was still a fairly hard slog to be honest, especially as I was mooring at that point haha!
